Never played with this b4, but it's actually a pretty sweet tool.

Here's my results for the 2022 draft - not messing with any of the sliders or rankings:

9 - Frank Nazar - C - USA (Michigan) - 5'10" 175 lbs - RH
41 - Simon Forsmark - D - SWE - 6'2" 195 lbs - LH
53 - David Goyette - C - CAN - 5'11" 175 lbs - LH
73 - Michael Buchinger - D - CAN - 6'0" 185 lbs - LH
105 - Gabriel Kangas - C - SWE - 5'11" 175 lbs - LH
111 - Spencer Sova - D - CAN - 6'1" 185 lbs - LH
128 - Cameron Lund - C - CAN - 6'2" 185 lbs - RH
137 - Cruz Lucius - RW - USA - 6'0" 175 lbs - RH
201 - Samuel Eklund - D - SWE - 6'0" 155 lbs - LH
211 - Cedrick Guindon - C - CAN - 5'10 170 lbs - LH

I took the top ranked player regardless of position each time besides with Nazar (stepped down 1 spot to grab him).

Here's basically how I see the cup board right now (only listing players who are or have the potential to become major impact players):

C
Larkin

RW
Raymond
Berrgren
Hanas

LW
Bertuzzi
Vrana
Soderblom
Mazur

RD
Seider
Hronek

LD
Edvinsson
Johansson
Wallinder
Buium

G
Nedejkovic
Cossa

Obvious needs: Centers and RHD
Yzerman doesn't seem to mind small skilled forwards, but loves big mobile D. So I'm doing this draft with these things in mind.

9 - Frank Nazar - Skilled smart center
41 - Ludwig Persson - Swedish playmaking center
53 - Maveric Lamoureux - Massive physical shutdown RHD with great mobility and huge shot
61 - Gabriel Kangas - Swedish two way center with upside
111 - Markus Limpar Lantz - Swedish playmaking center that's RH
112 - Noah Warren - Another massive physical RHD, I believe he led the CHL in hits
137 - Sergei Ivanov - Russian goalie

*Trade pick #73 and pick #105 to CGY in exchange for pick #61
*Trade pick #128, #201, and #211 to NYR in exchange for pick #112

So x4 centers (3 Swedish), x2 RHD, and a goalie.

I'm intrigued by this Lamoureux kid. He's 6'7 and is said to be pretty sound defensively, with great mobility. Loves the nasty stuff, but has been working to build out his offensive game. Seems like an SY type guy. Has showed flashes of more offensive ability beneath the surface.

Center:

Larkin is a great 2C and and an ok 1C.

Veleno is a great 3C and an ok 2C.

Rasmussen is a great 4C and an ok 3C.

They can all be impact players if they dont need to play in a position above their skillset.  Must get Bedard.

Right Wing:

Raymond - 1st Line.  Great player.

Sundqvist - Gonna bust.

We are missing (3) RIGHT HANDED players for lines 2, 3, and 4.  Niederbach is a season away from filling our 3rd line spot.  Forsberg would fill the 2nd line spot.  The 4th line is 6 minutes a night, so less to worry about.

Left Wing:

Vrana - Top 6.  Great player.

Bertuzzi - Top 6.  Great player.

Zadina - Top 9.  Work in progress.

Berggren - Top 9.  Work in progress.

Fabbri - Top 9.  Glass, so high bust potential.

Smith - Gonna bust.

Soderblom - Gonna bust.

Mazur - Gonna bust.

Mastrosimone - Gonna bust.

This is our strongest position currently.

RHD:

Seider - 1st Pairing.  Great Player.

Hronek - 2nd Pairing.  Will shine with Edvinsson.

Lindstrom - Career 3rd pairing guy.

Tuomisto - Gonna bust.

Could use one or 2 legit prospects in the the RHD pool.  If Seider has a Juri Fischer situation happen, the Wings are SCREWED.

LHD:

Wallinder - 1st pairing.  Going pass up Edvinsson as the Wings' best LHD.

Edvinsson - 2nd pairing.  Great Player.

McIsaac - Career 3rd pairing guy.

Sebrango - Career fills in for injured Swedes guy.

Walman - Gonna bust.

Juolevi - Gonna bust.

Johansson - Gonna bust.

Viro - Gonna bust.

Buium - Gonna bust.

This is position of strength for the team.  Very high ceiling for 3 pairings.

Goalie:

Ned - Great Player.

Cossa - Great Player.

Prospects - meh.

This is a position of strength.  Once the defense matures, the goalies are going to have a reasonable chanve of keeping pucks out of our net.  The top 2 guys have mad skills.

I honestly think Soderbom is going to turn out to be Franzen on steroids. I know I was never a huge Franzen fan, but when he was healthy and on his game, he was great for us. Look for the nets to be filled by this guy coming soon!

I also see Hronek being dealt. Can't say why, but it just feels like it's going to happen. Along with Bertuzzi if he turns down TWO extension offers from Yzerman. Could be a very big summer of trades for us. Depending on the coaching staff next season though, The likes of Zadina and Hronek could reach their full potential.

The smaller rink.  His game is skating around people in a keep away style.  Gotta skate THROUGH people in the NHL.  He wont be able to adapt to that.

I wouldn't say that

41 - Marco Kasper
53 - Kevin Korchinski - LHD
73 - Jiri Kulich - C
105 - Mathew Ward - C
111 - Topias Leinonen - 6'5" Goalie

And then a bunch of other guys

I said that.  Not you!

>First 3 minutes are a total waste of time
>@4:30 mark Scott Wheeler starts making himself look like a total jack ass saying Sodapop has no talent
>@6 min in the highlights start
>@13:45 Bultman & Pronman praise Soda and say he should've gone in the 3rd or 2nd round
>@15 Yzerman gushes about Elmer's development
>@19 Bultman discusses trying to convert him to a powerforward cause he plays more like a small skill guy
>@22 on it's basically all more highlights

This kid is basically Zdeno Chara if you took all the meanness out of Chara and replaced it with silky mitts. And used him at forward of course. He's definitely a sniper, not a traditional powerforward like you'd expect. He's not super physical. He doesn't even play net front on the PP, he plays on the flank in the one timer spot. His shot is really good. He can absolutely dangle guys and use his massive size and wingspan to protect the puck. He has creativity too and always finds new ways to score. His foot speed sucks, but he's shifty on his skates and has good maneuverability. I'm not sure his foot speed will matter as much as people think. His stride is massive and he can take edges. I guess a better analogy for him is he's Jonathan Ericsson + Skill + Shooting + Creativity.

That wont translate to NHL success.

He's a tank, he doesn't need to skate AROUND anyone.

I was hoping so too, but his footspeed and Swedishness will prevent him from being able to get to high probability areas.  You want to see a whipping boy, wait til you see this guy in the nhl.  Poor man's Zadina.

Just finished drafting using Draft Prospects Hockey’s NHL Draft Sim.
Detroit Red Wings
(9) Logan Cooley, C
(26) Conor Geekie, C
(128) Jack Devine, RW
(137) Topi Rönni, C
(201) Arseni Koromyslov, D
(211) Stephen Halliday, LW
#NHLDraft https://draftprospectshockey.com/draftsim

After trading 4 picks to TO for #26.

Did you have randomness jacked up? Cause that's the only time I've seen Cooley after the top5 and Geekie past 15/20.

Last full random one I did Montreal took Brad Lambert first overall and I got Kasper in the 2nd. Stopped jacking that up after that.
