Grffins pair of 7-0 gms

11 May 2013 - 12:10 PM

Griffins close out Aeros in first round with a 7-0 victory.  Tatar with 2 goals, an assist, and a fight.

Griffins open Marlies with 7-0 victory.  Tatar with two goals, and an assist.

Lottsa skill on that team.

Babs can't stay in Detroit for ever.  It 's probably not news to most of you, but it's looking more and more like they are giving Blashill an oppurtunity to prove that his hat belongs in the ring when the time comes.

Our best friend named her dog Griffin because she's such a big Wings fan.  Go Griffs.

Tuff road trip ahead

26 February 2013 - 01:52 PM

Kings had their best game of the year against us and Howard won the game.  They've been playing hard as hell since and getting results.  Gonna be a barn burner.  Hope we're up for it.

SJ is always tuff, and probably looking to this game to regain their early season form.  They always get up for us, always trying to shed the chip off their shoulder.  Hope we're up for it.

Chicago.  Nuff said.  Hope we're up for it.

And the points in this stretch are so important...hopefully we're heating up and the trip will bring the guys together even more...I'm a little anxious for game time...

Go Wings!

Lilja arrives

09 October 2012 - 11:45 AM

Lilja Piercen Lowell, 8 lbs, 4 oz, healthy as can be.

The Budd Lynch passing urged me to announce her arrival into our collective Detroit Red Wing family.  As one moves from the Red Wings present to Red Wings past, another moves from the future to the present and thus the traditions are carried forward.

Her 22 month old sister already loves the Wings and loves playing ball hockey and rod hockey, I'm sure Lilja will too (Especially when she sees pictures of the inspiration for her name wearing the Winged Wheel).

Cheers.

Interesting Tootoo read

10 August 2012 - 01:45 AM

I've been keeping my body in a state of nutritional ketosis since spring. ( My athletic performance is actually enhanced, etc). The inuit are often cited in studies of living in a state of nutritional ketosis due to their reliance on seal meat and fish (no sourcess for carbohydrates until recent times).

So I googled Tootoo diet and this is what i found. Good little read.

Read about Jim Thorpe first, or just scroll down to Tootoo.

His Inuit name is Kudluk, which translates as “thunder.”

He has a scar on his hand from a harpoon accident he had while seal hunting

His grandmother, Jenny Tootoo, was born in an igloo.
