Yeah, i too was lost when you said he wins most of his battles

#2280611 Dan Cleary openly admits to being at 50%

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 09 April 2012 - 04:01 PM

Wait, you guys DON'T want a guy who is 50% playing on the PK?!?!?

Jesus christ, a Dan Cleary at 100% can only do so much......

(Shake of the head, wag of the finger)

#2267017 Patrick Sharp

I wish the guy who is supposed to be Patrick Sharp for us (Johan Franzen) was as good as Patrick Sharp.....

Mikey York is just.....terrible.

#2260718 Somethings brewin'?

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 22 February 2012 - 03:47 PM

Let's sum this up here:

-We have 6 grinding forwards (miller, abdelkader, helm, holmstrom, emmerton/mursak/, cleary)
-Moen? Gaustad? we already have 6 of those guys......

-5 playmakers (zetterberg, datsyuk, filppula, hudler, bertuzzi)

-1 sniper (Franzen - who, like was said, misses the net a lot because he tries to go top shelf with every shot)

I SAY: we neeed a sniper.

#2259867 Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 21 February 2012 - 04:50 PM

-Not a sure thing (late 1st round picks in the NHL aren't necessarily toss-ups, but they are far from a sure thing)

-We wouldn't see whomever they drafted for AT LEAST 4 years anyway; so in the short term this is a good deal.

Lets look at this short term fellas: top 4 D-man playing in the 3rd pairing for us in exchange for a pick whom we wouldn't see for at least 4 years......

I love this pickup

#2255218 Joe Thornton... class act

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 11 February 2012 - 10:46 AM

Playoff time for the Sharks is a comedy act.

Literally EVERY time the Sharks are losing Thornton pulls something like this. Remember the Franzen slew foot?

The pressure of winning a Cup gets to this guy badly and he couldn't hide it if he wanted to....

AND LOL @ CLOWE!! Haha, get your Kronwalled @$$ outta here!

Does making a horrific defensive zone turnover that leads directly to a goal count? ;)

There is a difference between making a mistake and not playing hard.

Name me ONE shift in ANY game in which he took it off? Bet you can't do it!

Guy skates like a man on fire all the time :siren:

#2251206 Vancouver Sun article on why no one hates the Wings

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 02 February 2012 - 12:00 AM

K guys you are missing the point in this article. For one, he isn't talking about our fanbase.....

People hate the Bruins because they play thug hockey.

People hate the Rangers because of Tortorella and players "shooting" goalies after a goal.

People hate the Canucks because they are divers/crybabies.

People hate the Sharks because of players like Thornton (playoff cheap shot master) and Pavelski (diver).

People hate Chicago because they have guys like Kane who will score a goal and race out to center ice with a celebration.

People hate the Wings because.....they win? When our guys score they act like they've done it before. They don't play goon hockey. They don't complain in the media. They don't dish out cheap shots. And to that Blues fan, other than not being able to get over the "Red Wings hump", the only incidents you could be referring to are the Chris Pronger days.

“I played against Detroit more than I played for them, and the good way to put it is you have respect for them,” defenceman Mike Commodore said. “A lot of guys end up staying here for a long time. Other guys come in here and maybe their career is at a standstill or they’re on the backside of their career, and they’re able to come here and get rejuvenated. Players respect that, too. The way things are done in Detroit has garnered respect."

#2250237 Rank the Hate between the Canadian NHL Teams

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 27 January 2012 - 11:03 AM

Can I take this a different route and list them by order in which I hate them???

1. Montreal: they jumped due to the "controversy" of non-French speaking personell.

2. Vancouver: Ryan Kesler is from Ohio State and can't take being Kronwalled without crying about it.

3. Calgary: because their front office thinks that placing 7th-8th in the conference is "going for it" and they hold Iggy hostage.

4. Toronto: their fanbase is going to make the Winter Classic a 50-50 distribution at the Big House. They are cult-like....

5. Edmonton: meh, really obnoxious goal horn that they played for a solid min. every time they scored in the '06 playoffs.

6. Ottawa: Paully Mac is doing a great job. Good for them.

7. Winnepeg: blank

#2249979 why is Emmerton instead of Mursak?

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 26 January 2012 - 11:15 AM

and why homer over conner/andersson? because holland and babcock hates gritty guys.

Homer - Emmerton - Miller

In babcocks and hollands eyes this is "ultimate checkingline".

I'm neutral on Emmerton. He is what he is: a 4th line center. Mursak is more multi-dimensional and would be a better option, but as was said he is a winger.

But I don't think it can be argued that Miller and Homer aren't bringing it 100% on every shift. Those two are always flying out there.

#2247368 Brad Stuart to the West Coast?

Posted by unsaddleddonald on 19 January 2012 - 10:43 PM

Ugh, I know I'm gonna sound like the bad guy after this so I apologize in advance.

He signed a 3 year deal which means he was going to be here for 3 years. He was 29 so he had to have had a young family either not in school or early in school (although something was said about a step-daughter wanting to be close to her dad? that shouldn't factor into this kind of decision....) So kid wise, it shouldn't have been a problem moving them.

Wife had a job or wanted to be close to family? Sorry, tough cookies. Your husband makes $3.5 million dollars a year. Suck it up. Make the sacrifice.

If one of those reasons was why they didn't move, I dunno that just seems selfish to me.

We are going to lose a solid top 4 D-man who has made his mark here, who loves this team, because his family won't move here. That really SUCKS!

Again, I may not have this right (at all), and I apologize again for sounding insensitive, but this sucks......
