I've always thought Pavel could turn into Larionov in his 40's and get 5-10 goals and about 40-50 assists. Sure he wouldn't be the 90 point superstar of today but he would still be a hell of an asset.
I for one look forward to another 3-4 years of 'superstar Pavel' followed by another 6-7 years of 'Larionov Pavel'

Edit: Seriously though, a team doesn't improve only by adding new players. How about improving from within?
How about getting back a 80-90pt Zetterberg? A 90pt Datsyuk? A 25 goal Cleary? A motivated Franzen? A 50pt Kronwall? Maybe Ericsson turns into a solid top 4 d-man. Maybe Smith takes a huge step forward and becomes one of those rookies that other teams always seem to have (you know the ones that play great right away instead of taking 8 years to develop). Maybe this Brunner guy scores 30? Who knows?

They'll probably get more for Schneider in a trade because he's younger and because of Luongo's contract. Also, Luongo has a NTC and Schneider doesn't want to be a back-up any more so they will have to move one of them.

Quincey, Ericsson, or Stuart. They were all bad in this series.

Ericsson was actually not that bad. He was very good on the PK and at times outplayed Q and Stuart 5-on-5.
Stuart is a veteran and while I agree that he was terrible (and I really didn't expect anything better from him), he is still a highly paid, experienced d-man so there is no chance he gets benched.

Holland traded our first round pick for Quincey. And as much as some people here rag on him, he's still a better option than Smith right now. To me the problem was with our stale offence. Smith will hopefully get his chance next season. Stuart will be gone for sure.

Difference or not we all knew this team was a longshot to win the Cup. Smith would have gotten some valuable experience by playing in this series and there's no way he'd be worse than Stuart or Quincey were

Come on guys, get real. No team in the league would've benched any of our top 6 d-men in favour of a rookie d-man. It doesn't matter how much potential he has. This was about winning now. And our best chance was with the guys we had. Unfortunately, it wasn't good enough.

Like he would've made any difference. Kindl didn't play a second in the playoffs so I'm not sure why you're bringing him into this.

We should've seen this coming (Franzen being terrible). His line in that Ram commercial is "Howard's in trouble", but it always makes me think: "You're the one who's in trouble. You can't even score on a truck these days" :hehe:
