Maybe he models his game after Alex Burrows?

And a real top 4 defenseman would be nice.

Luongo's still seen much crazier stuff in Vancouver.

#2493331 Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

Keeps getting better and better

Jarnkrok has proven he can be a point per game player in the AHL over the past 20 games. It's certainly not just a hot streak either; he seems to have gotten his offensive game together (after already being very good defensively).

Nyquist was also a point per game player in his first full AHL season at the same age (22). And we all know how good Nyquist is for us now...

I fully support a conservative trading philosophy. But lately, it's not like we're holding out for very good trades.

Giving up a first round pick was overpayment for Quincey even before he played a single awful game for us. And I still think Poile strongarmed Holland for Jarnkrok; we probably could have gotten away with less since Nashville didn't want to lose Legwand for nothing and he had a NTC.

Doughty is as good or better than Kronwall defensively.

As for Dmen to bring in, I'd be interested in Matt Greene.  Big physical defensive defenseman who's not afraid to drop the gloves when necessary, right handed, Michigan guy.  His contract is up this season.  He's been a healthy scratch a few times under Sutter so he may have soured on that relationship a bit.

He had concussion problems in January though and I think an upper body injury, so I'm not totally sure where his health is at right now.   He's also pretty slow, which will only get worse with age.  But if he can be had for a decent price it could help bring some experience to the blueline.

Yeah, but I think Doughty plays better when paired with a solid defensive type, like Vlasic in the Olympics. Even Kronwall makes mistakes, but I still think he's a bit more consistent than Doughty.

I wouldn't want Matt Greene though. He's a 3rd pairing guy and would get caught up in a glut of defenseman here (Smith, Kindl, Lashoff, Almquist, etc.) He's more solid defensively than any of our kids, but doesn't have enough upside to stay in the lineup IMO.

We need a true top 4 type to join Kronwall, Ericsson, and DeKeyser. Basically we need D-man much better than Quincey to take his spot. That should be the main priority as I think all the kids will essentially fight for the bottom 2 spots.

Since you asked.....

Seabrook--No, not offensively

Fowler?--Not yet

Doughty--Yes, but not defensively

OEL--Not yet

Yandle?--No, not defensively

J Johnson--No, no hockey sense at all

Girardi--No, not offensively

martin?--No, not offensively

Orpik--Hell no

Letang-pre stroke--No, fourth forward

Carlsson--Not yet

Subban--Yes, but not defensively

karlsson--Yes, but not defensively

Gudas--No way hahahahahah

Phanenf--No, ask a Leafs fan

But yes, that is 24 guys of the top-(ok it took me 5 mins) that are feel are better than Kronwall.

Different doesn't necessarily mean better.

Playing with Quincey--the hockey equivalent of huffing paint.

But without the high.

Great news. I'm assuming he takes Bertuzzi's spot.

I'm happy with Legwand, but I really would have liked to seen Jarnkrok with the big club at least once or twice before trading him away.

Guess there's no such thing are free agency either, the Wings are doomed without a young center.

Elite players don't make it to free agency anymore. And if they do, it's a Parise/Suter bidding war.

Young, defensively sound, top 6 centers don't grow on trees.

#RedWings prospect C Calle Jarnkrok (to NSH) expendable because behind Sheahan, Andersson. Way down depth chart

Bulls***. Any scout would say that Jarnkrok has much more upside than Andersson.

Wow, so much anger of a prospect.

Yeah, possibly our best prospect in the entire organization.

I really doubt Jarnkrok is the prospect. If he is, Holland should be fired.

Holland, we like our 3rd and 5th rd picks

Hemsky's not the right player for us anyways. Soft and extremely inconsistent.
