Please somebody in the Western Conf just eliminate these pricks early next year so I don't have to see Patrickf****** Kane hoist the cup again and listen to casual Hawks fans in my neck of the woods chirping about their "dynasty." Better yet, please, Wings, just go to the finals next year and beat these pricks yourselves. I can dream.
I'm a teacher and I just used this link to rick-roll one of my student's parents. Sent an e-mail telling them in honor of us possibly facing each other in the first round we should do a friendly wager and why don't they enjoy (as a sign of good faith) this great video compilation of crysby's greatest moments. I can't wait to read their response.
My old ass jumped 3 feet in the air when gus scored. My new hero. Hell all the kids are my new heroes. Jimmy looked out of position a few times but he got the job done! Soon he'll be back to also being my hero. Finish strong boys!
Sproul, Mrazek, Mantha, Athanasiou, Jurco and Jarnkrok all have top end potential. Pulkinen and Sheahan are potential 2nd line forwards. Marchenko, Ouellet, Backman, and Jensen all project as solid to good NHL d-men. Then there are Nyquist, Tatar, and Dekeyser. This team will not go the way of the Flames.
Agreed. We've all probably been frustrated at one time or another (or all the time for some people) with Holland's fear of making big-ish moves via trade over the years, but I still give him and the rest of the front office credit for drafting from low rounds quite well for so many years. Some of these long-term contracts and re-signings made me do a face-palm like many others. Maybe people are right for hammering him over his propensity to err on the side of caution, but I'm still happy to see the young talent we've got coming up (even if many of them age in the minors longer than we'd like). This is all part of the payment for how much we got to enjoy the run from the mid-90s to 2009. All that said, damn it would be cool to see a real move at the deadline for somebody who can help right now on the blue line or a power forward or something.
I'd just like to say how glad I am to see Pavel leading the forwards in ice time last night after getting trashed all over the place for playing in the Olympics and getting hurt consequently missing the next 15 games or whatever the pessimists predicted. To me, he's spent the last decade-plus displaying nothing but a team-first attitude and grit. I had to listen on the interweb since I live out of state, so if he had his worst game in recent memory, feel free to correct me. It was just a bummer reading all the negativity about his choice to wear the C for Russia on home ice. Maximum respect, Pavel. Now, let's win another one, boys!
Possible silver lining: Z gets healthier, the kids are forced to take on more responsibilities, show their grit from 20 years in Grand Rapids, and the Wings fight into the playoffs and pull an improbable upset of the Pens or Bruins. Yeah I'm hanging my hat on this pipe dream until further notice.
