I can't see Kenny going after Nash or Ryan. The need right now is on defense. Yandle is the ideal guy. Something like Flip, Abs and Quincey may get it done. Sign Semin. Sign Doan if you can. Go with that. This would be a successful off season.



The thing is, to acquire a top 2 dman like Yandle, who is entering his prime, will cost a premium. Phoenix is going to want Flip in any deal with Detroit. Kenny will have to give to get if he wants Yandle.

Two RFA's and a UFA next year who will surely bolt for a 25 year old stud defenseman. There's no way you're getting Yandle, Nash, or Ryan without at least including one of Smith/Nyquist. These teams aren't going to give away their franchise players for scraps, guys.

Lol. They got outbid by Minnesota.. By $8Million dollars over 13 years. That's $600K a year. Pretty minuscule when you're talking about guys making Millions and Millions of dollars a year. If Detroit was really such a great destination and such a powerhouse, they would be with Detroit now and not Minnesota. It had nothing to do with money. The Wild actually have 4-5Mill in cap remaining and 19Mill coming off the books next year to go after another FA by the name of Shea Weber.

I'm pretty sure I saw an NHL player poll last year that asked players which coaches they would most like to play for and Babcock was either second or third (I think second).
