I'm retired from posting on this board but I must make a brief return just to say this and then I'll be retired again... Poel, you are a complete moron. lol Mike Babcock once called Darren Helm the best 3rd line centre in the league. So you know more about hockey than he does? Seriously...Helm isn't even a good 4th liner? Do you even watch hockey? So you're one of those guys who thinks you're right just because you say are. Guess what? You're completely wrong. Why? Because I said so. See, I know everything just like you do. If Helm is so bad, then why is he in the NHL? How did he make it? Helm gives the puck away all the time? When? Once when you saw him play? Guess what genius...every player gives the puck away. I don't care how good you are. So if Helm gives the puck away a lot (which he doesn't) then it must mean that he has the puck a lot of the time, yes? Or are his opponents just letting him always have the puck? Maybe, he has the puck alot because...he is a good player? Nah of course not! He is useless right? Helm is an excellent third line player. He has speed, grit, tenacity and is solid defensively. If he is so bad then why is he consistently used late in games when protecting leads? Only Andersson was worse than Helm last season? So you're saying guys like Jurco, Pulkkinen, Miller, Richards were better? Lol How? If Helm is so bad then why are teams willing to sign him as a UFA this summer? He will likely get between 3-4 million per season on the open market. I don't think Holland Will 're-sign him because his hometown Winnipeg Jets likely will offer him more term and money. Anyway, I'm done now and will go away again. I just wanted to let you, Poel, know that your posts about Darren Helm are the most idiotic posts I've ever read on a hockey message board. We should just play 30 year olds with proven track records and have no players on the team who are unproven. Trade all our draft picks too. We don't need those guys. They haven't proven anything.

The same people complaining about how inconsistent Mrazek is will be the same ones jumping on his bandwagon when he wins most of his games including ones where the team is outplayed. I can play this game too. Oh who would want Mrazek? All star Jimmy time!

It's so obvious isn't it? Mainly because Mrazek is so confident playing the puck at all times. He wants to play the puck. Jimmy doesn't. Mrazek always makes the right decision with the puck. Howard usually gives it away. Remember the giveaway versus Boston in the playoffs? What a gift that was. All goalies will make mistakes every now and then and turn the puck over. But Jimmy does it all the time. He really has no idea what to do when he has the puck. With our defenseman, we need all the help we can get in getting the puck out of our own zone. Our strength is our talented group of forwards . Mrazek gets the puck to our dmen so they can get it to guys like Tats, Dats, Gus and Hank. We spend less time chasing the other team and more time playing our puck possession skill game.

I'm not advocating trading Jimmy this season. He still has value on this team right now. Mrazek is the better goalie and should be the starter. Mrazek's ability to play the puck alone makes him better. Am I the only one here who sees how much better the defenseman are when Mrazek is in net? It's like having a third dman back at all times. Is there anything Howard does better than Mrazek? What am I missing here? When did Jimmy Howard become this great goalie? We're going to hold Mrazek's inexperience against him? Are Red Wings fans so used to average goaltending that we now are unable to recognize a blue chip talent in goal? I just shake my head. Lol I don't understand what Howard has done to deserve such blind support. I like Jimmy. I do. I've been hoping for years he would be a star goalie. He isn't. His ceiling has been achieved already. He is still an NHL goalie. Mrazek has a much higher talent level. He Will only get better. I look forward to seeing this. Is this how it will be here? Each time Mrazek gets scored on or dare I say it, lose a game, are we going to want to run him out if town like Tim Chevaldae? Why does Mrazek get no credit and Howard gets no blame? Seriously, I don't get it. Its like most here want to forget Jimmys awful play after his injury and give him a do over. If it were not for Mrazek, the Wings would not even have made the playoffs last season. But heY Jimmy Howard is the man right? Those first few months he was better than Carey Price! Lol

I think the solution is to trade Mrazek. Howard is an all star when he's not injured. Mrazek is too inconsistent. We don't need his amazing saves or great puck handling ability. We don't need his wins or shutouts or confidence. We don't need his blue chip talent. We have Jimmy. He played like crap last year after he came back from his injury. But lets give him the starter role because he makes 5 mil a year. He has been consistent for years. Consistently average. For the first time in a long time we finally have a young blue chip talent in goal which the Wings have drafted and developed. It was tough to swallow that game 7 loss to Tampa. The one takeaway I came away with was at least I knew we have a franchise goalie in Mrazek. I figured most Wings fans would be excited about it. I was wrong I guess. To each their own. I'm still excited about Mrazek. This team is lucky to have this kid.

I give up. Ok guy. Let's play Jimmy for 3 more seasons. Lol

Tell me where I said this? I'd be fine with Mrazek getting 50 and Howard getting 32.
