Ouch. That hurt. It's sad you don't realize they are nearly one in the same.
Line combinations = roster. Pretty simple concept. Again, I'm not stating there is a problem. But if Babcock is hinting at it then maybe there is some truth to it. He's obviously trying to juggle the ROSTER to find some combination to spark the team becuase we all know they aren't playing the best hockey as of late, he's said so himself. Just because "it's been the most said statement by him" doesn't make it any less true. However I'm more inclined to think it could have been the month in between games they had. But if that spark, down the road, is waiving Brunnstrom and Emmerton and putting in Murask and Tatar, both of whom have more upside than the former, then so be it. Tatar is nothing but passion and hustle. Look at his first goal, kid wants to be a Red Wing. That's not saying the rest of the players don't. I have to try and be as clear as possible here.
I remember when nobody was safe from Bowman. Even Stevie was in Bowmans dog house. It's unfortunate everyone has gone soft.
I always find it humorous when people make references to the past, especially in sports and when it's five years ago. See, the thing about the past is, well, it's the past. It has little to no relevance to the team in the PRESENT. I *think* there is a saying about not living in the past, I'm not entirely positive though. Yes, it's virtually the same team in terms of the 'core' but you're talking about a Zetterberg, Datysuk, Lidstrom, Rafalaski, etc etc five years younger. There's a little difference there.
But I forgot they won the cup that year so surely they are destined to this year! But wait, I can live in the past as well. Didn't San Jose knock us out the past two years? Not quite sure I want that to repeat itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, -4, am I not kissing the Red Wings ass enough for you guys? I remember when this forum used to be good and someone could have a strong opinion. Now that's living in the past.

Figured you'd have more to say than that. Oh well, silence is golden in whatever country you're in. I'm guessing Shoreline won't be saying much either since I threw his 2008 logic out of the window. On to the next one.

Saying it's just two games and to not worry about it is no better than saying what the OP did.
Simple fact is the past two games they have played lethargic, undisciplined hockey. Taking seven penalties in one game is pathetic and worthy of a practice with no pucks. While I don't think it would affect the Wings but this type of play devolps bad habits. I don't know about the rest of you but the last thing I want going into Friday is a Red Wings team with bad habits.

Nobody is saying "Playing without effort is okay." People are simply saying "Whoa, don't freak out over the roster yet. It's been two games over an 82 game season. Let's see how they do for a bit before hitting the panic button."
It's sad that people can't understand the difference.

In 2007-08 the Red Wings' first 7 games were 4-2-1 (9 pts) -- pretty sure we remember how that season ended.
So far they have 5-2-0 (10 pts) and are on pace for 117. So, following a horrendous 5-2 start, without reservation, we begin another season episode of Panic time!

They are 70 MPH pitches down the middle in batting practice. It was cocky to say, especially when he failed to show up a couple games. Furthermore I'm sure he could jack 10/10 in batting practice if he really wanted to. Again, they are 70 MPH pitches down the middle, I would hope he can do that seeing how he is the best hitter in all of baseball. They might even be 60 MPH for all I know, figured 70 was a nice, round number
    WE TALKIN' 'BOUT PRACTICE?!?!
    Get Real
It was very fun to watch, no doubt, I'll agree all day with that. Not hear though. Keep your mouth shut, take care of your business and you'll do fine. You ever hear any Red Wings opening up their mouth?
Didn't think so - Go aboot your business
I wasn't upset with Cruz taunting Verlander, Cabrera started it. It's not like Verlander did anything out-of-the-ordinary special in the playoffs anyways. Once in a lifetime regular season, meh post season.

But you all want a new arena correct? That requires a lot of money, which they may or may not have. Either way Amway is giving them more of it.

I'll be in the minority when I also say I don't want a new arena for the Red Wings, they do deserve one though. But the Joe reeks and oozes old school hockey and hockey in general. From peeing in a tub down to the claustrophobic seats. I was at game 6 (vs the sharks) last year and I can guranatee a new arena would not have been as loud as the Joe was that game. By far the most outrageous, insane, fun, mind numbing, voice losing game I've been to. Roof was shaking it was so loud. I don't give a s*** who you are at the Joe, if you're around me you're getting a high five. And that's exactly what I want, a close experience with other fans that share a love for a game only hockey fans can know.
The Joe provides all of this

And you say things haven't changed? I wonder why? Look at the pictures before Coleman Young. Notice anything? But yea, things are gonna be different and better when white people are LITERALLY AFRAID to go downtown.

In retail / entertainment the teams are trying to sell you something. Well in this business you simply aren't going to make everyone happy. The customer is always right and even if you have evidence to disprove that person the customer still thinks / is right. And that person, no matter how misinformed and idiotic they sound ARE STILL RIGHT and they will let you know aboot it. This will NEVER change.
Many of us? Thanks for lumping everyone into the same category. No s*** you're gonna get a drunken fool that thought he was hot s*** in high school rambling "COME ON INGE, I CAN HIT THE BALL BETTER THAN THAT." That's a bad example, many of us can. So this person thinks losing is a great experience? What kind of f***ed up idea is that? Yea man, I went to the game and my team lost 10-0 but man was it a GREAT game. Are you out of your mind?
Detroit once was an incredible place, 1000000% correct. But see there was kinda the great white flight, I don't think that really helped and surely you were around for that. And when you were on tour even more s*** went down, IDK if you paid attention or not but I feel you didn't. It's pretty simple to see why Detroit isn't the incredible place it once was. But unfortunately this guy doesn't realize sports is the ONLY thing keeping us unified. Unless you are part of the artard "NO MAN, MSU IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCHHHHH BETTER THEN UM. "UH-UH MAN, YOU'RE AN IDIOT, UM IS BETTER TIMES INFINITY." Do us all a favor and stop rooting for either one. Or just don't voice your opinion, you are beyond annoying.
The secret answer? That's what the government wants. We complain yet don't do anything because we don't know how to do anything without the government helping. Just the way they want it, buh-bye middle class. This person has been all around the country, I feel it'd be safe to assume they noticed how it isn't nearly as ugly and desperate as it is in Michigan. It's a lot easier to not worry about everyday life when you aren't worried about making your next mortgage payment.
It's more Detroit has turned ugly, not the fans. Up until I started going to Chi-Town on a semi-regular basis I was opppttiimmiisstic about Detroit. Yea, we'll be back. Things are gonna turn around in no time. I'm afraid not. It'll be a long, painfully slow process if they want to attain that great city status again. Detroit is at least a hundred years away from being what Chicago or any great city is.

The Red Wings are gonna fall. It just depends on what your definition of fall is. Mine is 6th place in the west and a decent shot to win it all in the playoffs. By no means are they the perennial favorites they once were but they are still the Red Wings. Now, when they move to the East it might be a different story.

-In the Red Wings puck possession system speed isn't as important. I am willing to bet Jagr is no slower or faster than Franzen
-Comparing Hudler's KHL stint to Jaromir Jagr's KHL stint is like comparing apples and oranges. Jagr was an all-star. Hudler is, well...yea
-Comparing the Modano experiment to a Jagr experiment is like comparing apples and oranges. Modano got injured. We don't know if Jagr will get injured. End of story.
-He'll be cheap. Or at least what Holland will offer will be cheap
-If he's the cancer everyone talks aboot in the locker room...well trade him
