Detroit Pistons (and NBA) Playoff Thread

It doesn't matter. The Refs will NOT let Miami lose Game 7. Predictions:

- D Wade and Shaq end up with a combined 7 fouls or less (neither will be in foul trouble).

- D Wade will get at least 12 free throws

- Rasheed will get 5 fouls including at least two offensive fouls

- Rasheed will get T-ed up

- Miami will be 'appointed' the Eastern Conference champions.

Heres the pistons we know.

I think now we can say if Wade doesnt play or is highly limited in game 7 that Miami is done. That is, of course, if the ref's are somewhat mild on the Pistons.

I'm glad we won...we made the extra pass I was talking about in my last post, so that's good too...

BUT...we are not playing with our heads. We gotta be cool. Instead, Rip's getting teed up, Sheeds getting teed up...*** man! Get a fuking clue...the refs WILL NOT be on our side. But bitching about it like some ******* MAKES IT WORSE YOU FUKING DUMBASSES!!!! Just STFU and play! Goddamn...is that asking for too much? The whiny card and the victim card is wearing thin on even myself, a Piston slappy! JUST STFU! Don't make it worse!

Just play ball...and win game 7...

As much as the absence of Dwayne Wade played a factor in this game, the Pistons would've won either way. They didn't go long stretches without scoring, and really defended well. If the refs are better for game 7, Detroit will win it.

BTW...did you guys notice that they're already getting ready for excuses should the Heat lose the series?

At one point, the announcers mentioned Wade's injury...his partner mentioned that they might wanna sit Shaq the rest of the game so they can rest him and his thigh, get him ready for game 7. Then the other announcers chimes in saying that every single Miami starter is actually playing injured.

Even if the Pistons win, they won't win...

Haha, JohnO I noticed that as well. Pretty funny stuff if you ask me.

Anyhow, I was able to catch about the last quarter of the game last night, and I was impressed by the Pistons' play, although I seen little of it. From what I heard, they played solid throughout the entire game, which is good. Hopefully they can come out fired out for game 7, and the refs won't be so bad...

LET'S GO PISTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God forbid they actually say something about Rips calf...

I used to watch all the pre and post game stuff on tnt, espn, and all that but I don't anymore becuase I realized who gives a *** to as what they have to say, especially Mr. 3 game 12 minute 2 points in the playoffs himself Tim Legler. Let them say all the sh*t they want, if it gets the Pistons to the finals and another ring who cares?

Cruiser is right though, Stern and the refs will not let Detroit win the game, Shaq vs Duncan sounds too good for them and their ratings. I can already hear all the crap that would be going on about "can Shaq win a title in his first year after leaving the Lakers?"

And the answer is.....no way in hell....the Pistons are the only team that is capable of beating the Spurs....

Look at all the excuses in Wetzel's column laugh.gif

Saturday here in Auburn Hills, the Heat went cold without Wade and were crushed 91-66 by the Detroit Pistons. Miami's offensive effort was beyond sorry; it was nonexistent. The Pistons didn't even play that well, yet this one was over in the early minutes of the third quarter.

Yep...dominated the Heat but ONLY because God..err Wade...wasn't there.

Adding to the Heat's troubles, Piston guard Richard Hamilton – who no longer had to expend energy chasing Wade on defense – played like he'd had a refrigerator lifted off his back. He wound up with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting.

Minus Wade's underrated defense, the Pistons guards recorded 14 assists and no turnovers.

Underrated, but still on the All defensive team.

"Obviously not having him, that impacted the game so much," Pistons coach Larry Brown said. "Dwyane, just like Shaq, makes everyone better. Dwyane has the same effect on the game on both ends."

Probably even a greater one. When Shaq was severely hobbled with a thigh bruise and missed some games during the first two rounds of these playoffs, the Heat rolled on unbeaten.

Because When Shaq was out, the Heat played the Washington Worthless...and Wade is out against the crappy defending champions. That's pretty much comparable competition right?

The Heat are a very good team. But every kept saying that they weren't just Shaq and Wade. Now they're saying that they are JUST WADE, wide a side of MVP-Runner Up Shaq? Yeah sure

Shaquille O'Neal was candidate for league MVP honors this season, but it is now clear Wade is the most valuable member of this team.

Yeah...because one pretty good player is going to determine whether his team gets dominated by the defending champions or, if he has the BEST GAMES OF HIS CAREER and his team's other star is playing hurt, his team plays 50-50 ball with them?

Yep...Wade is sure Miami's MVP. Not.

Yep...Wade is sure Miami's MVP. Not.

Even Detroit's own Pat Caputo on 1270AM was jumping on the Wade bandwagon yesterday on his talk radio show. He said O'Neal is the most overrated player in the NBA. And he said Wade is clearly the MVP of the Heat.

I've always hated Caputo...I was SO glad when he left 1130AM cuz that the station I mostly listen to...

Both team's aren't playing great yet, but it's close. I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch this - WAY too nerve wrecking..

EDIT: Nice quick start for the 2nd quarter, let's see if they can keep it up!

Well the officials are certainly against us (3 Free Throws for Detroit in the ENTIRE first half? Are you kidding me?) but we're playing with heart and composure. I still think foul discrepancy will beat us in the end but you never know.

HOLLA, PEACE SHAQ, PEACE WADE... GOOD LUCK NEXT YEAR HAHAHA.

Man, Shaq is a shell of what he used to be, he can barely give 2 good quarters anymore. The Pistons are just so clutch, hardly anyone gave them a shot, but look what happens!

What a game!!! I thought Detroit would lose it when there were a few minutes left. Never again should I doubt their character. There's going to be every excuse in the book about why Detroit won it, just wait until Van Gundy starts talking. rolleyes.gif Ah well, Detroit won and that's what matters. The Spurs are going to be a lot tougher than Miami, but Detroit can do it!
