lfd250 1 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 That's a pretty common occurrence Brandon. But still, it's no small surgery. I'll be praying for him. She's praying because she's doing the surgury. Just kidding, that's great news, here to a good surgery and speedy recovery.

Standard, keeps the people from just parking every place and flying into the ER.

Every hospital I've been at has had valet. Most of them are complimentary, some are not. But guess what? You have to be a patient to use it.

HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 We used it mostly in trauma. Like if an alcoholic has a really bad accident and needs surgery afterwards we don't give them food or anything and their bodies are so used to alcohol to maintain baseline function that if they don't get a certain amount of alcohol they go through withdrawals. It's just easier to let them have beer than treat withdrawals, the worst of which are delirium tremens which can manifest as seizures and hallucinations. Just love it.... may I remind you alcohol is used as a natural diuretic... It is funny, I was expecting to see delirium tremens on my exam today about substance abuse and I didn't..... 6 pages of notes about stimulants, depressents, and hallucinogens, and not one question on the conent. Rivalred 630 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 The bastards do that on purpose. If you study it they won't ask it. Yeah, instead you get questions like.... A 2-year-old caucasion male walks into the E.R complaining of chest pains, SOB (shortness of breath), and pounding peripheal pulses bilaterally. He has a history of smoking 4 pack's of Marlbro Light Menthols for the last 6 months and has 2 shots of whiskey before bedtime mixed in his apple juice. What do you do?
