DaKineMaui 8 Report post Posted January 29, 2006 Damn that sucks. In highschool I had a scare like that with one of my teachers that luckily became funny instead of sad. It was when I was taking driver's ed and the day we took a half day off school to do longdistance interstate driving and city driving (I went to school in a town of 1,500 so it was a commute to get city traffic). Anyway, we went to McDonalds during the driver shift (it was me and my best friend one drives down the other drives back) for our teacher's morning coffee, which is a decades old ritual (this guy taught my dad and all my uncles driver's ed back in the 60's). He stepped up on the curb and it was icy and his leg just slipped out from under him and I have this distinct image of him levitating about 3 feet off the ground perfectly horizontal and then crashing down onto the curb/sidewalk. I was just panicking "Damn, here I am an hour from home no license and Mr. Poe just broke his hip." He just popped up, brushed/laughed it off and went to get his senior coffee. But it was scary for a couple seconds there. I hope your dad's recovery goes well. peace (Gotta post - may as well hit the quote button too right?) What is it with that early a.m. senoir McCoffee? Our McDonalds on this side of the rock looks like Cocoon III every morning. aloha

Ever seen someone slip on a banana peel? 7th or 8th grade, I'm eating my lunch in the cafeteria-gymnasium with amigos, and a kid in a younger grade comes out of the lunch line. There is a door to walk through, the lunch line being in a room off to the side. Banana peel just outside the doorway. One foot in the air, entire lunch tray flying in a graceful arc in the backwards direction. Resounding THUD-SMASH throughout the very echo-ey gymnasium. Laughter abounds. Straight outta Bugs Bunny. Nothing was hurt, except probably the kid's ego.

MSUDoubleJ19 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2006 When the power goes out and the traffic lights are not working, it's a four way stop. Am I right, or am I right? Apparently most people do not know this.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) You are correct. There are still a fair amount of traffic lights that are not functional back down here in the New Orleans area still from the storm. A lot of people tend to forget this as well. Thankfully have seen no accidents from this but I've seen a lot of horn-honking. I have actually gotten into an accident when I was 16 due to this situation but since I was driving down the street with busier traffic, t'wasnt my fault and the guy who ran into me was supposed to give me the right of way.
