Guest Tombsy Report post Posted September 22, 2006 Wings talking to Panthers The Red Wings are just interested in Erat, Hartnell (top target), and Bondra. There was talk that the Red Wings were talking to the Panthers. The Panthers like Dats, and the Red Wings have put him on the block. I just can't into detail, but maybe you guys will figure it out. I'll report it later on in the Insider Forum. Maybe Keenan didn't like Dats and thats why the Luongo trade never went through. With Keenan out of the picture, could a Dats for Bertuzzi deal be brewing? Sammy-Zetts-Bert Hudler-Lang-Williams
Rice 42 Report post Posted September 22, 2006 The Panthers have Jokinen and Horton at center already. They dont need Datsyuk.
TNBT 3 Report post Posted September 22, 2006 I'm not sure that I'd place too much faith in this rumor, but if it went down then I think the top 2 lines would look more like this: Hudler - Zetterberg - Bertuzzi Samuelsson - Lang - Williams
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted September 22, 2006 The Panthers have Jokinen and Horton at center already. They dont need Datsyuk. I would consider trading Dats for Jokinen, though. Jokinen is bigger and can play both wings as well as center. Of course, that might also be a reason for Florida to trade for Dats: Jokinen/Datsyuk/Bertuzzi Dunno what the Wings would be getting in return, but that could be a pretty formidable line for Florida. Asia13 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2006 Not to be a smart alec or anything but isn't Horton a Right Wing? Also I don't think Datsyuk would get Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi is one of the top power forwards in the game. He just needs to get over that mental hump and he'll be back to his old form. It'll be more like this: Datsyuk+high draft pick/top prospect (Flippula) for Bertuzzi

MabusIncarnate 5,359 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 Like it or not, I think Bertuzzi's reputation still dents his value a little bit. I could see Pavel for him straight up, but i'm not sure if i'd like it.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 LMAO. I had a dream last night that Bertuzzi was a Wing, and was a huge part of us winning the 2007 Stanley Cup. HARTNELL? Is Holland trying to kill me? Oh my my my. :puke: :puke: :puke: NEVER have I disliked/ thought low of a player like I do of Scott Hartnell.

And you say this in a post in which you think Bertuzzi would be a good fit? Even without the Moore incident, Bertuzzi would need a ladder to reach Scott Hartnell. Yeah, I don't like this idea at all either. Even for Bertuzzi! I say keep Datsyuk. Unless we can get a Hossa, Heatley, or something like that. Which won't happen!! theman19 47 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 i just don't see why florida would trade a player they recieved so much flak for trading for in the first place. I understand it's a new gm but i think another player outside of bert would be more likely to go.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) And you say this in a post in which you think Bertuzzi would be a good fit? Even without the Moore incident, Bertuzzi would need a ladder to reach Scott Hartnell. I said I had a dream that he was on our team. I didn't say I wanted him or thought he'd be a good fit for the Wings. I cannot stand Bertuzzi, but I dislike Hartnell so much more because of his intent to constantly injure players and take them out of the line up for months. He is by far the most dirty, scum bag, player in the NHL. Of course Bertuzzi has has done much worse *the moore incident, among a few other things*, but at LEAST he could play and is good for something and has talent. Not that'd I'd ever want him on the Wings but i'm just sayin.. Edited September 23, 2006 by hockeycrazy3033

Barnes52 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 Holland trading Datsyuk is as likely as Holland and Babcock moving to Massachuetts to get married. Not gonna happen, that would be a risky trade and Holland doesn't do anything remotely gutsy or risky, no way, never!
Guest Tombsy Report post Posted September 24, 2006 I'd say signing Hasek is risky.

SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 EVEN THOUGH THIS RUMOR IS FROM EKLUND, I AM ACTUALLY BELIEVING IT MORE THAN NOT. MY BUDDY WAS AT THE CHICAGO/FLORIDA GAME A FEW DAYS AGO AND SCOTTY BOWMAN WAS THERE WITH ANOTHER GENTLEMAN IN THE STANDS. NOW I KNOW SCOTTY ISN'T NECESSARILY A SCOUT, BUT THAT OTHER GUY COULD HAVE BEEN VERBEEK PERHAPS. ALSO THIS WAS THE SAME NIGHT THE WINGS WERE PLAYING THE AVS... SO THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT SCOTTY WAS DOING SOME SCOUTING FOR US AND THAT WOULD FIT THIS SCENARIO PERFECTLY. BUT WE CAN'T JUST SPECULATE IT HAS TO DO WITH DATSYUK... IT COULD BE A TRADE INVOLVING MACDONALD MAYBE? MAYBE THEY'RE LOOKING AT SOME OF THE PROSPECTS. IF IT IS A TRADE FOR DATSYUK, YOU'D HAVE TO SEE BERTUZZI, JOKINEN, OR HORTON COMING BACK IN RETURN. SPEAKING OF GRIT, HAS ANYONE SEEN FRANZEN PLAYING??? THE GUY IS PLAYING TWICE AS HARD AS LAST YEAR AND IF THEY KEEP HIM ON DATSYUK'S LINE AND/OR GIVE HIM POWERPLAY TIME, THE GUY IS GOING TO DOUBLE IS OUTPUT FROM LAST SEASON, 20 GOALS OR MORE, I GUARANSHEED IT.
