haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 The Tigers should enjoy this support while it lasts, cuz next year if they don't win it all, Detroit fans will be calling for Leyland's head, and screaming how they blew it by not trading for Jeter, A Rod, and Damon. GO GET'EM TIGERS!! Better chance than Minny, anyway Honestly, I think the Yankees need this game more than we do. They can't be liking their chances in Game 4, not with Jaret Wright on the mound against Bonderman. And they're surely sweating this one out too. If Randy Johnson's back is bad, he won't be throwing his fastball like Randy Johnson....and the Tigers have made a living all year making outfielders chase bad fastballs. And if Johnson gets tagged, the Yankees have to go to their bullpen early....and their bullpen is horrible. Wow. I'm pretty confident. I think the Tigers can do this, I really do. dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 The announcers could not be on the Yankee's crotchal area any more. I mean why don't they just head down to the Yankee's dugout and call the game from there? I don't know why I am so surprised with a Detroit team not getting any respect but... dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 I predict a major sh*tstorm heading to Oakland that is going to ruin their little 3 game sweep high... It was so nice to hear Ernie's voice again

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Kenny's curve is just disgusting. Holy s*** is he mowing them down tonight. Curve, changeup, fastball, they're swinging through them all. But they can't even touch the curve.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 I don't know who that was on the mound tonight, but that could not have been Kenny Rogers! That was a performance reminiscent of Curt Schilling in '04! *bows to Kenny's greatness*
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 That rocked tonight! Tigs should give the Pistons and Wings some playoff advice! Hey even if they don't win the series - this is fun. Kenny Rogers - who would have thought - awesome! Good luck tomorrow!
Sting 11 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Congrats Tigers fans on the 2-1 series lead! Hopefully y'all can finish them off without having to go back to NY.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Unbelievable game. Who'd have thought the fearsome Yankee lineup could look so dominated? I thought the Tigers had a good shot at winning tonight; I didn't think they'd do it like that. Kenny flashed his Sunday best stuff. So Jaret Wright is slated for tomorrow's start. Jim Leyland's faced Wright in the playoffs before: Game 7 of the '97 WS. It's tough to remember individual ballgames, but I remember that one clear as glass. Worked out pretty well for Leyland. betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Anybody else have the feeling that if the Tigers win this series, they go all the way? A little bit. For sure, the Yankees are the toughest team in the postseason. But with only 8 teams making the playoffs, they're all tough. Check out this Kenny Rogers press conference - you can really see what this game meant to him.
Cruiser008 37 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Great win boys!!! Ever thought Rogers would be so dominant, or that Randy Johnson would look so overmatched. P.S. A Rod, you suck!! P.P.S. Hey Giambi, are you looking for something? (waves needle). Let's crush the evil empire tomorrow once and for all!!
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Wooohoooo!!! (This kind of reminds me of the Wings' Cup run in 1997 -- the excitement, the buzz around town. But with the Tigers sucking for so long over the last 20 years this season has come out of the blue -- no "almost" seasons like 93, 94 & 95, and that's what makes it even more mind-blowing.)
