so by now it's fairly obvious we need a scoring winger in the worst way. To that end as you notice we have no wingers, we also have a ridiclous amount of centers. My question is who do you think needs a center bad enough to cough up a winger of any consquence?

We've played 2 games.

yes we've played two games, that will not change the fact we have one player on this entire team who naturally plays right wing. I'm not saying lets sell the farm...it's a " for fun" topic if you can't grasp that then don't bother insulting my intellgence.

Maybe you've missed the past 100 topics on this but yes it has gotten old to speculate this "lets trade a center for a scoring winger". It's all been speculated on here ALL offseason. It's obvious it won't happen anytime soon. Let's see how the season folds out and then bring this back maybe near the trade deadline. Maybe someone will step up maybe they won't. If it was sooo obvious then management would have done something by now. They are giving the young guys a shot as they should.

I'd say these 'Let's trade a C for a W' topics go all the way back to 2003 when I first joined these boards. :)

Still, with constant turnover in the league, that doesn't mean we can't have a random discussion about it. No need to shoot down a thread just because you're sick of reading about that topic.

you guys want to trade datsyuk because of the playoff series i know that he did not light up the scoreboard but if you trade him i think zetterburg will miss datsyuk because datsyuk is the playmaker and Zetterburg is the scorer

But trade Lang for sure we need some one better

I know let trade lang for some one then who ever that is put in Ahl and put hurdler in lang place

Datsyuk and Zetterberg do not play on the same line. Zetterberg is a better scorer than Dats, and might be an equally talented playmaker as well.

Better idea than a Lang trade..let's scratch (or waive) Norton and put Hudler and Kopecky on scoring lines and put Draper between Maltby and Cleary where he belongs.

That's insane.

Hudler is NOT better than Lang, not by a longshot. Why on earth would you think that would be an upgrade?

Bell would have been nice. Hartnell or Upshall would be awesome if they can be had. The problem is there isn't to many 6'2"+ gritty scoring wingers avaible right now. My personal favorite would be Rolston but I just don't see that happenin any time soon.
