Lilja, despite all the bashing he takes on here, actually seems to have built a decent rep around the league from his play last season.

Detroit's looking to move Lilja? Lilja can't even move Lilja -- talk about slow-footed. Don't see why anyone would want him at his pricetag -- especially in that rumoured trade for Forsberg.

Lilja gets too much crap around here. Other than the fact that he isn't the fastest guy out there, he is a soild stay at home defensemen, who proved last season that he is just that. His +/- was very good and that is a strong reflection of how well he does his job.

I am not big on Lilja, don't get me wrong, if we can move him, that's cool, cause we can at least get a draft pick for him and our drafting is sweet so I'm sure we'd put it to good use. I would like to see Quincey up here, but more than likely, Chelios is feeling good and can play full-time, and Lebda is ready for full-time duties as well. We don't need a seventh d-man necessarily and if we were to use anyone, we could try Norton as the 7th man, because we want Quincey to get as much ice-time as possible, and that may not be possible until next season.

Or Lilja for Jonsson/pick? Then we could make Jonsson our 7th d-man and let Norton stay in GR or walk.

I would rather Jonsson played the time in GR and Norton were #7. Jonsson has potential and it would be a shame to waste him when he could develop.

Lilja is mediocre but good enough to jump in case of injuries. A draft pick is fine and all, but it can't play games until it's materialised as a full blown NHL guy.

Is Dan Smith capable of coming in for a few games if needed?

He has some size and a few NHL games under his belt would he

be any better than Lilja/Norton?, I see he is a +8 for the 22 games

he has played in the show. I would like to see Quincey as our 7th D

if it happens. Keep an eye on the young kid Ericsson at GR. Leads

them in +- rating in his rookie eason so far. Has started to fill out a bit too, 6'5" 218lb could be another sleeper we've picked up. 9th R 291 OA.
