russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 I wonder why....was Ellis sent down??? or is this prep that Williams/Hudler is on the way out and the returns won't be here for Tuesday's game???
JeeSpot82 10 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 Whaaa? Ellis and now Hussey. Bizzare-o. Maybe they're just keeping a revolving door to Grand Rapids. Matt Ellis didn't make any sort of lasting impression last game...

Filppula41 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 (edited) If Ellis hasn't been sent down, then maybe a possible trade in the works? Edited February 26, 2007 by Filppula41
JeeSpot82 10 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 According to the same link, which posts all AHL transactions, Ellis hasn't been sent back down. Maybe they're preparing to put Cleary on IR.
Rice 42 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 Weird. We have a full lineup already...

If they were going to put Cleary on IR they would still have a full line-up so it would make more sense to not call anyone up and use the extra cap space for a deal... WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH 10 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 Or they were called up because we might have deal in which some roster players move tommorrow and the newcomers wont be in chicago by tommorrow night
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 I'm totally lost. I don't get why they'd call Ellis up. Even if a trade were in the works why would you have to bring someone up? Unless the player we are trading for won't be able to play right away that is.. Or they were called up because we might have deal in which some roster players move tommorrow and the newcomers wont be in chicago by tommorrow night Ahh I just saw this now. Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

FinWing 26 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Just let it be Williams who's leaving (if anybody). Or Lang.

Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Just let it be Williams who's leaving (if anybody). Or Lang. Maybe a trade is in the works that would send two current roster players in return for one player? That would make some sense then, to have another GR call-up without sending Ellis down. Taking two guys off the roster and only adding one would leave a gap. Am I the only one or will everyone else find it hard to sleep tonight? I'm so nervous right now, I feel I'm on the trading block!!! I know!! I don't want to miss anything. Although I'm pretty sure we can sleep tonight knowing they're not going to announce any trades at 4 AM. LOL

I seriously doubt that we'd send out two roster players. I think it's more a matter of the new player not being able to make it in time for our next game, thus the extra player. ltgator333 3 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Aside trade speculation I didn't think that Langfeild-Hussey-Ellis was a half bad line last time they had them together. They were holding the puck in the offensive zone for decent periods of time. Better than Lang's line does on a consistant basis.
