puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I base my judgements on what I saw not what they announcers say. Their words only go so far. sorry, I forgot to put in a giant sarcasm smilie on my comment. I am so sick of Detroit announcers not giving Dom any credit. You'd think they were calling for the other team. Oh, well, Dom did well even if it was just the Hawks.
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 (edited) Chicago can play rough, but they crossed the line a few times tonight. I'd like to see some fines, but does that even do anything to a nasty s*** hole in the gutter team like the Hawks? I definitely think that one on Calder should at least be fined, if not suspended. It was not only a hit from behind, but he leaped into Calder. But of course, it probably won't. Edited February 28, 2007 by Wings_Rule_1010
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 ok all together now! HOMER! HOMER! HOMER! HOMER! didnt miss a beat w. hank outta the lineup... very encouraging going into the playoffs that we can still win with no hank
Schneids_is_awesome 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Great game. I almost didn't recognize the team with all their physicality. It was nice to see, finally/ Yea, and nothing makes me think "physical" than Hudler and Lebda.
terri27 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 well I think I'm gonna go and get ready for bed. Great game-yeah we won. Goodnight everyone.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I love listening to them interview Holmstrom. me, too... Homer's a fine fellow! I wish Center Ice didn't dump the feed the instant the game is over. Bummer.
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 First of all I love these GDT posts by Aflac but I also want some clarification on the Lebda call (forgive me if this has already been covered) they gave him a game misconduct for "...not having his jersey tied down" can someone explain that? i've never heard of that before
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Good job boys. Too bad Hasek didn't get the shutout, but the win is the important thing. Good job also to Kyle Calder. A goal, assist, and some physical play too. Great job Calder!
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Pretty easy going affair for the Wings... Calder looked great. Obviously the goal and the assist, but he drove to the net a few times and provided good jump. Pavel was sharp tonight. He and Homer continue to display good chemistry... Hasek's wanderlust pays off tonight, and boooo Hamilton for messing with the SO. Wings beat Chicago handily, ho hum, we'll do it again Friday with Hank back in the line up. Airborn 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Is it just me or did the Hawks look entirely disinterested tonight? We have a bunch of games left against them too. Not exactly a great test for the playoffs; I'm pretty sure of AHL team could beat them.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 First of all I love these GDT posts by Aflac but I also want some clarification on the Lebda call (forgive me if this has already been covered) they gave him a game misconduct for "...not having his jersey tied down" can someone explain that? i've never heard of that before all players have their jerseys tied to their pants so they, in a fight, cant have an advantage by giving the opponent anything to grab, if a player does not have his jersey tied down, it is easier to take off in a fight. i think thats how it goes
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 First of all I love these GDT posts by Aflac but I also want some clarification on the Lebda call (forgive me if this has already been covered) they gave him a game misconduct for "...not having his jersey tied down" can someone explain that? i've never heard of that before It's a penalty in a fight not have your jersey tied down. Gives you an unfair advantage because you can grab the other guy but he's got nothing to hold onto.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 NHL.com Stars of the Game: 1. Homer 2. Mule 3. Dom* *who had nothing to do all night except stop breakaways and wraparounds and PK and get an assist on a goal, while killing 5-3s, but still somehow got a star. Gorsh, he's lucky (**sarcasm**) Wish Homer had gotten a hattie.

RedRum #1 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 IObviously I dont expect Clader to score every game, but if he can provide that kind of forechecking effort and puck pursuit every game he'll be an even better aquisition than my optimistic ass thought he would be. Flip-check 6 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Homer is hilarious. 'Ehhh you always have to bring that up don't you." hahaha! I love listening to him. He's just great, I swear, if they had Red Wings Weekly showing all the good stuff like that for like.. three nights out of the week, I would so be there. It would be embarassing to reconcile in my head, but I would so be there.
Airborn 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I almost feel semi-bad for Williams. Going from the best in the west, to one of the worst teams in the NHL... oh well. I feel bad for anybody who has to play in Chicago. You could literally hear the players skates tonight it was so quiet. The only time you heard the crowd at all was when Wings fans were chanting, "lets go Red Wings."
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 just to clarify the Lebda thing... NHL rule # 47.13: "Any player or goalkeeper who engages in a fight and whose jersey is not properly "tied down" (jersey properly fastened to pants), and who loses his jersey (completely off his torso) in that altercation, shall receive a game misconduct penalty"
Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Oh well. No extra points for a shutout. True. Hasek's done it all by this point anyway-- I doubt he really cares as long as he gets the W. Totally Lilja's fault. Did ANYONE but me notice how goddamn clumsy the guy was out there? He was like a boy amongst men.

skacore 2 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 The jersey strap rule is so pointless..... not really its pretty straight forward, tie your strap down and you won't get ejected, it's there because some more active fighters (mccarty) would just let the top half of their equipment slip off which gives them an advantage over their opponent
