I think this is a bigger test than either of the Nashville games. We need to be able to prove that we can win on the road against a team like Vancouver. It's interesting that the visiting team has won the three previous meetings already, so hopefully that trend continues. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. The Wings are still depleted, the Canucks are not. Should still be a fun one nonetheless.

I'm hoping for another unlikely victory tonight as the Spartans take on North Carolina in the NCAA tournament. A Wings win and a Spartans win would make this a very nice St. Patty's Day.

This is exactly right. I don't bother predicting scores and goal-scorers. Just give us the two points, and Detroit DOES need to prove that it can beat a playoff team on the road. They never do well on these road trips.

I think this is going to be the biggest test we face left of the schedule for us before the playoffs. We win this and I'm positive we'll win the President's again, barring catastrophic injuries or playing like we did against Boston.

I don't expect us to win this one but will by no means be surprised if it happens, our inprobable run right now in spite of injury trouble makes it seem as if we can't lose. We score early and don't end up building any mountains to climb and we'll win this one, we fall behind or allow soft goals and I'm fearful of our chances. I see this one going to OT and though we've been better in our OTs recently Vancouver's one of the best in that department. Still I think we'll somehow pull out a vicotory even if we have to be lucky.

I am excited for this game!!! Apparently two nights in a row wasn't enough for me! I always feel like I've been deprived of hockey for too long *cough lockout cough*. We're going to win b/c Wingslogo is going to the game...simple as that. One more game...means we're one game closer to Bert and Z coming back! GO WINGS GO!

We need 2 points tonight, hopefully in regulation. Vancouver scares me in OT/SO, so none of that tonight. We're still hurting, but I think we can pull this one off, just to show that we can win a game against a good team on the road. Officially clinch our playoff spot tonight, and let's get more points on Nashville, although I am afraid to see Calgary in the 1st round of playoffs.

Let's go Wings!

Agreed. If we can play solid tonight vs. vancouver, thats says a lot.

4-3 Wings in shootout. (I know, crazy!)

This is how I'm seeing this game...sloppy 1st and 2nd periods by the Wings, frantic 3rd period playing catch-up and falling short. Just an honest prediction. We're simply NOT good on the road.

4-2 Nucks.

I'd love to be proven wrong. :D

this is going to be a tough one. I'm going to say Wings win 3-2 in OT. Flipper gets the OT winner

Vancouver is very tough to score on at home and they seem to be going to OT/SO's lately.

They have the smallest positive GF/GA differential of any team in the NHL. This might make things tough on them in the playoffs.

Im nervous about this game. Vancouver has no key injuries (unless you consider kesler key) and Detroit has a ton. Hopefully they come out firing. well see. Im going to remain positive.

I'd say Willie Mitchell is pretty key, he's been a rock back there this year.

They have the smallest positive GF/GA differential of any team in the NHL. This might make things tough on them in the playoffs.

But it also shows that they can win close, tight checking (playoff style) games.... :)

Very nice little game summary there btw

Such a thing is common when it's the gaolie carrying the team. When he's on his mark he'll steal a game in a one-two goal victory, if he's off of his game it could end up being a blow out. Only takes one blow-out to wipe out the teams recent overall +/-. Also winning shootouts doesn't give you a GF over your opponent, or at least I don't believe it does.

At least he traveled with the rest of the team, he just has a sore foot.

Yeah well tell him to suck it up! Be a man!

Ok I'm kidding...I hope he plays tonight. And I hope he isn't too injured. Feel better Flip.

He'll show ya some Finnish guts and play through it. ;) Babs said Flip MIGHT not even miss one game, I guess they'll determine in warm-ups or so.
