MCFreshWes 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Sammy is Babcock's 3rd man playing the point on the power play right now. There is no way he sits game 2. Sadly enough I think Huds will be the odd man out.

Yes, Sammy is important in that role now when Kronwall is out. But maybe we should try Lebda also on the point?
detroitdan 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 I'd sit Hudler...I thought Sammy was good on the PP and Cleary had a lot of energy...tough call but I'd sit Hudler if I was Babs
PolskAltima 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 I'd sit Hudler...I thought Sammy was good on the PP and Cleary had a lot of energy...tough call but I'd sit Hudler if I was Babs the lil guy gives his all... and got that assist on Lidstrom's goal... i could care less about Sammy... Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 I think, based on the current play, Samuelsson should be the one out. But I think it will be hudler or flip. Both were the only ones who played below 10 minutes, while samuelsson played over 15.

Both were the only ones who played below 10 minutes, while samuelsson played over 15. It's only a two horse race, if you ask me. Flip isn't even going to be considered. He had a monster game, and was far and away our top guy in the first. I reaaaaaaally hope Mike does the right thing and benches Sammy but my gut tells me (with great dread and trepidation) that Rex will be unceremoniously shafted. Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Cleary and Maltby had great games. Sammy is a goner. Yeah both Maltby and Cleary played well. Cleary was flying out there! If it was up to me, I'd sit Sammy, but I think it's going to be Hudler.

RedRum #1 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 I think, based on the current play, Samuelsson should be the one out. If it was based on current play Lang would be sitting. Give me a guy who'll at least forecheck, back-check his ass off and play solid in his own end all night over a guy who doesnt take the right man coming back and gives the puck away all night. Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 id like to see Sammy, Maltby or Cleary sit when Bertuzzi comes back... Cleary had 7 shots tonight http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/gameTrax?gameId=2007041205 It'll be Hudler.
Aeothe Kaear 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Yes, Sammy is important in that role now when Kronwall is out. Important? Yeah, who else has his amazing and valuable ability to have a worthless 60 foot shot blocked and turn into a rush the other way? What exactly is he contributing there that Lebda couldn't do? Or Markov?
SoupGuru 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Hudler will sit. Players like Cleary and Maltby were built for the playoffs. No chance they'll sit. I don't hear Franzen's name mentioned. I don't think he should (or will) sit either since he's a force to be reckoned with as well. I also think Lebda should get a chance at the point on the power play. He's been nothing but reliable. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Huds needs to stay. The guy is amazing. Please don't sit out Rex, Babs. Sammy has been playing decent lately..but he should be the one out.
8888 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) If I had to choose it would be Lang because he is lazy. I call him "lazy Lang." I think it will be Hudler instead of Sammy . I think Lilja should be bench for Quincy :!: :!: :!: . Edited April 13, 2007 by 8888

Airborn 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 lilja wasnt half bad tonight, some nice poke checks and followed through on quite a few of his checks... He was extremely solid. He had one bad play (the one where his pocket go picked in front of the net). Other than that, I couldn't have asked for more from him.
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 I think sadly it will be Hudler sitting. Not because he is playing bad, in fact he is playing extremely well. But, Babcock likes Lang & Samuelsson, so I can't see either of them sitting.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 No one has any right to say anything nasty about Lilja after tonight's game. He laid out a very nice hit at one point, blocked some shots, and didn't turn the puck over even once. Solid, solid outing for Andreas.
Airborn 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Is Bertuzzi even definite to come back for game 2? The way our injuries have gone lately, I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for the year.
redwingfan19 293 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 It will be Huds... thats what my gut tells me. On a side note Lilja did play very well tonight. Go Wings
Aki 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 I watching Sportnets on TV, and they said that Bertuzzi will be a game time decision on sunday
Vladiator 116 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 If Bert is cleared to play, then Rex will be the cut. Sammy has the size and is still very skilled which should point to his return to Game 2. As said, it is nice to have this choice, but I am still concerned that we may have a problem with the D if one should fall.
Rice 42 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Hudler was great tonight. He was going into high-traffic areas and was even a little chippy. I'd prefer Sammy to sit but it's probably going to be Hudler.
