HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Eh. It wasn't a horrible first period, just kinda sloppy. It's not like the Flames completely dominated either. If there's one good thing about the Wings in the first is there constant pressure on the Flames, they give them NO room at all. I know they've gotten more shots than us, but the Wings near the end started to play really well. Dom really held us in there at the end. 2nd period will be much period. GO WINGS!!!!!!! Calgary is playing for their lives,I expect a tight game.That's the Flames BEST period in 7 periods played thus far.And plus the crowd gave them a little extra jump,I think not scoring on the 4 minute power play really didn't give us much confidence though.We'll win this game. Wingsor 2 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) Good outcome first period. I was worried Calgary would "BRING IT". They didnt look that menacing, we just looked a bit "crowd-struck". First is over, we weathered their storm, and now its time to settle the youngsters down who arent used to playing in this environment. Speaking of environments, what the hell is wrong with their ice? I've never seen so many bouncing pucks. Love how they tried to say the other day that the Wings and Drapes went after Regehr....RIIIIIIIIIIGHT. Lets see they run at Zetts for the first game and a half, and now theyre going after Bertuzzi every time hes on the ice, whether he has the puck or not. Hope the Calgary guy is ok, getting a puck going upwards on the bottom of the nose, could be deadly. Glad he's ok. I've never seen so many home jerseys in the crowd in my life, they must be selling them cheap there. Most arenas even if theyre full of jerseys are full of homa AND away, old and new...this is an entire arena of new home jerseys. Calgary's new jersey does look much better than their older ones though, gotta give em props. There's so much red there though, if I were a Wing on the ice, I'd just pretend they're Wings jerseys hehe. If they're selling them cheap, wish the Wings would do that too, would like to add some more to my collection. Need to get 13, 40 and 5, ill add the numbers at a local store. Bertuzzi looks strong despite being hit. People are rolling off of him. We got lucky on the Hasek post. We really should have scored on the double minor, but can't change the past. Who did we scratch to bring in Bert? Prediction, because Calgary is not playing fast paced hockey consistently today, they will play more defensive, trap-ish, which will most likely be annoying to watch. Kipper has not been tested yet, once he gets some hard shots at him, we will know our chances. GO WINGS!
