Offsides 21 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 I just looked at the TOI stats and you know who's got the least amount of ice time apart from Rex (3:23)? Sammy (4:34). I'm as shocked as you are. With the time he's HAD on the ice, he's actually used it to his advantage. *starts pre-heating the oven for some 'Baked Crow'* Rex Huddles fitting music... its 5 o'clock in detroit! I think that's the point
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 Love the headshots on Cleary by the Flames. Typical goonery....and then Iginla has to be the little ***** that he is and go after players after the whistle. Somebody photoshop me up a picture of Iginla in a tutu. aflac9262 211 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 Well it only gets harder for the Flames. The Wings are a "third period team." In addition to that, makeup calls await.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 And that punk Giordano takes Cleary into the boards. What a classless move by him. It was a clean hit. If a guys' back out on the ice, he's fair game. You can't expect him to hold up just because Cleary was injured earlier.

ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 (edited) Calgary is really starting to piss me off. Cleary gets injured and its a freakin miracle he's able to come back. And ofcourse, all of Calgary's guys go straight for him. Edited April 21, 2007 by ShanahanMan
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 Is anybody else got the love goin for Lilja ?? Not only has he been a beast defensively, but he actually made a few deft offensive passes that almost got him a primary assist on a goal. Lilja has been one of our most consistent Dmen so far. Gotta say Im really impressed.
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 Big difference between this year and 2004, the hitting picks up, Detroit doesn't wilt. Instead they pound right back. Nice work so far boys! esteef

Sure it's a legal hit, but it was far from necessary. There was no time left on the clock for the Flames to make a play, and Cleary did not see Giordano coming. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 Difference in this game = special teams. The PK has given Detroit all kinds of confidence, energy, and momentum. And Franzen needs to be getting top minutes. Hes proving night after night that hes got the hands to go along with his grit, size, and speed.

Yep, seems like every scrum the Wings are getting sent to the box. It's either both players go to the box, or neither of them should.

Gotta say Im really impressed. It's amazing how different of a game he's played this post-season as opposed to what he was like against Edmonton year. The Schneider-Lilja pairing has been much better defensively than I thought they would be going into the series.
