Sharks fans want to play Wings

Relax Wing-a-Dings...

San Jose merely wants to Wing it up rather than facing the Ducks.

The Sharks board linked earlier is a joke. Visit this one: http://www.thefeeder.com

Great people on the that board who enjoy the game. No chestpumping going on on that site.

Whoever SJ plays it will be rough...BUT trust me, Sharks fans do NOT unerestimate the Wings.

Maybe not on that board, but over on hfbords.com they sure as hell are. We just get tired of seeing the team being called "soft" and everyone thinking that it's going to be a 4 game series.

Well, it's not like there hasn't been a precedent set, you know. The Wings will have to take them on and prove them wrong before anything will change.

At this point I want the Wings to play the Sharks so if we win the cup no one can say we only advanced because Dallas was "soft" or whatever. We were the underdogs in the Calgary series as well. I know our regular season record vs. the Sharks was questionable (to say the least) but in the playoffs that is mostly wiped clean. the Sharks are an AMAZING team, no doubt...but if the Wings bring it they can beat them. it's a matter of how much they WANT it, and in the regular season, they had less incentive to do it.

To which team? Detroit? :D

No the sharks fans said that the only threat in the Western Conference was Anaheim.

Wings will not survive massive runs if the other team decides to play it tough and on the verge of penalties. Flames were missing depth and discipline and could not afford it but Sharks are a different story. they can do it and if they pressure us all the time we won't look as good as against Calgary.

I sure enjoyed the way Wings played against Flames, but Sharks are not the same story. they are different league than Calgary in pretty much every department. and they definitely know how to play tough.

not to sound like an ass spoiling party, but physical toughness will not be our advantage if we play Sharks.

You're 100% right. While we aren't a bunch of softies, we're not as hard as the Sharks. We do, however, have the better 5-on-5 team. The powerplay, however, is a scary prospect when playing San Jose...

I think most SJ fans have a crush on the Ducks.

The bottom line is simple. There is no disrespect, just fans wishing to not play Anaheim. Honest!

I think Shark fans think the wings can't pull it off like the past few years is what i think

Ignorant?

About what?

Duh- about shoveling snow. You couldn't clear a drive way before supper if your wife's porshe was pushing the shovel for ya :sly:

Wait, I've confused the issue. What are we talking about?

Edit: I'm being weird, sorry.

Oh, the poor little #1 seed is not being respected! Face it, the Sharks fared better against Detroit than against Anaheim. It doesn't mean the Wings suck. They're merely off-hand comments based on simple, concrete facts. Stop the martyrdom.

Hey bro- that feeder tank site was actually fun to read. I love the article on Nashville. :)

If you read the Sharks Chatroom they don't feel that Hasek is even a threat they said he got lucky the entire. They feel that the Red Wings are one of the weakest teams left in the Conference. I guess they don't consider us a threat

They are just afraid of playing the Ducks

OK, that isn't the case on thefeeder.com forum. The consensus is that all the teams in the West are tough outs. Sharks fans generally agree that the Sharks can beat any of the remaining teams and any of the remaining teams can knock off the Sharks. There are no soft teams left in the West. You can find threads that say as much on that forum.

The Sharks will play either the Wings or the Ducks. Tough choice either way. No one is dissing the Wings (at least, not yet) by preferring Detroit over the Ducks. The Ducks had the edge on the Sharks in the regular season. Each game was a physical war. A playoff series will be even more brutal. Wings fans *should* want to see those teams soften each other up.

As a Sharks fan (one of the 26, I guess), I know it is highly probable the Sharks will have to go through both Detroit and Anaheim. The only question is the order. IMO, the Sharks have a better chance of moving to the SCF by playing Detroit now and the Ducks later. Why? The Sharks have had a couple more days to rest after the Prednecks while the Wings just finished a tough series. The Ducks have also had a rest so no advantage there. Let them trade checks with the Canucks for a while.

If the Sharks meet the Wings next it will be a tough series for both teams. The teams have changed since the regular season so there is no way to predict with confidence how it will turn out. I am surprised that so many Wings fans think Detroit would be the underdog, though. The #1 seed in the toughest conference with home ice should be the favorite.

Any remarks on other fan forums always come back here somehow. Do you guys hunt down the internet to find this stuff or something?

I will pose a question here. How many of you, before this topic was posted, was a member of or even knew thefeeder.com forums existed? My guess is about 2 out of 94 who posted.

edited for grammar

Chill out folks.....Sharks fans want to play us for the same reason most here want to play against the Stars or were hoping for the Preds to pull the upset.

Better success against a team in the regular season = preference to play against them in the postseason.

I remember most Wings fans wanting to play Calgary in the 2nd round of the '04 playoffs and look what happened.

Thanks! I've been trying to explain this all day.

We Sharks fans are NOT looking ahead. Just understand that we've been through 8 games with the (Mighty :hehe: ) Ducks and they are ******* great.

It's NOT about beating you, it's about avoiding them.

P.S.

Whatever happened to the Detroit Express?
