Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I just noticed Lebda was taken off the injured list on yahoo sports. Did anyone hear if he was cleared to play game 3?
arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I checked that out too, but in a few other threads, all reports say that game 5 is most likely the earliest return date. All I can say.
asmith18 3 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 We need Homer and Lebs back, but I'd rather have them rest longer than get re-injuried b/c then we'd be really screwed! Damn Flames!

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Rest for later....like when November!!! This is the playoffs if can contribute you play!!! Which is why he won't play. He'll be more of a hindrance than a help if he were to play tonight.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Rest for later....like when November!!! This is the playoffs if can contribute you play!!! Unless you're sure he's 100% healthy, how do you know he can/will contribute? He's not Zetterberg, so theres a difference.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 (edited) the flu is making the rounds in the dressing room, I heard/read. Zetterberg and Schneider didn't practice yesterday. Let's hope no one else get sick. edit: not being Debbie Downer, just worried for them with all the travel and stress. We need everyone who is able to show up 100%. Well if you are a top 6 Winger or top 4 Defenseman on any team (which they both cleary are on this team), you try and play, if you can contribute. A 80% Holmstrom is good for this team, if he only plays on the PP. If your hurt your hurt, but I was making a comment of the "resting for later" part. Either way, I would love to have both 100% and take this damn thing to the end!
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I think eye injuries are a different animal than most; you pretty much have to be 100% ready to go to play.
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I love Lebda but Quincey has been solid so I'm in no rush to have him back if he isn't ready. Don't get me wrong the day he is ready to play I'll be ecstatic but if he isn't healthy Quincey is a good 6th Defenceman.
asmith18 3 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 They talked to Lebs during pre-game looked better. He wants to be back for Game 4, but I say wait a game so he can be almost 100%
gowings9 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 any updates on lebda? is he still day to day? it would be great to get him back before the end of this series.
SoupGuru 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 I'm totally impressed with Quincey filling in for Lebda. Don't get me wrong, when Lebda's healthy I want him in there instead of Quincey... but if Quincey is Detroit's future then I'm pretty happy. Just think with a little more experience, a bit more a of a physical presence...

Just think with a little more experience, a bit more a of a physical presence... Quincey has done well; he's a great stay-at-home defenseman. However, whilst Lebda may not be as good as Quince in the defensive zone, he makes up for it with his ability to gain the offensive zone whenever he's on the ice. Henkka 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) What do you think, do we have afford to let both oldies Schneider and Chelios go? Lebda and Quincey have been so good youngsters and also Lilja is improving. Next season: Lidström - Markov (or another UFA) Lilja - Kronwall Lebda - Quincey Chelios could be there as a cheap 7th d-man. Don't get me wrong the day he is ready to play I'll be ecstatic but if he isn't healthy Quincey is a good 6th Defenceman. I agree completely, at least we know that if another defenseman goes down, Quincy can step in and play great. I will say though, I want Lebda back in because of how often he pinches in. We seem to always have 3 forwards battling on the boards and when they center it, no one is ever there. Sometimes Cheli jumps in for the shot, but Lebda is the most active on those kind of plays. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) Lebs took part in a full practice today, but won't play tomorrow. It's Babs decision. Lebda out for Game 5. Edited May 4, 2007 by HockeyCrazy3033
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Lebs took part in a full practice today, but won't play tomorrow. It's Babs decision. Lebda out for Game 5. As weird as it sounds, I tend to agree with Babs. Why change the lineup when you have momentum coming home for game 5? Just leave it alone. Besides, I think the fact that Holmstrom is back is the thing that is going to push Detroit over the edge in this series. The sharks haven't had to deal with Holmstrom and now that they do, it just adds all kinds of problems for SJ.
