Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Surely he won’t play? Even though Kopecky has good size and strength, he hasn’t played for months. If he’s in the line-up over Hulder then he hates Huds more than I thought.
Guest bullocks Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Kopencky has been ready since April 25th. There just not playing him. Kyle Calder any day of the week... Hudler too.. yah, calders our worst player right now.

I'm sure Lang would have something to say about that...At least Calder doesn't cough the puck up. On a serious note, Calder has to be injured- I'm all in favor of playing Kopecky though. On a serious note, Calder has to be injured- I'm all in favor of playing Kopecky though. Calder "has to be" injured? Calder IS injured - his hand is broken, that's way he plays so little. But Kopecky's been out for months now and he wouldn't get more ice time either, so I don't think a change like that would affect our play anyway

Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 I don't see why Calder is getting dumped on so much. As much as I want Bert to succeed, he's not really much better. Calder may be playing awful, but I am more confident he is giving it his all. Bert on the other hand, i just don't know
pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 i thought bertuzzi was downright awful tonight... calder doesn't get very many minutes and he's hardcore injured, so i can't blame him for his play. I wouldn't mind seeind hudler out there. Yeah, we'd lose size and strength, but how much are we benefitting from Calder right now? Franzen, Lang, and Samuelsson have all stepped it up and made a difference, it's time for Bertuzzi to follow suit. He talks about knowing "his role on this team" well it sure ain't what he's doing now. I'd be happy if he fought somebody and took them out of the game for 5 mins, at least then he'd leave an impression.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Calder isn't playing awful. The guy plays what? 4 minutes? And when he's out there does he do anything wrong? No? He doesn't give up the puck, or cause turnovers etc.. why he's getting ragged on constantly is beyond me. It really irks me because even with the very little time he is out there, you can tell he's out there hustling and giving it his absolute best. I feel awful for him. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 I think you, and many others for that matter, have forgotten how much Kopecky sucked when he actually played. Agreed. He won't help the Wings at all. In fact, he'll more than likely hurt them even more. He's injured and really isn't that good of a player to begin with (Crymson, I like how you worded it ). SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 1. Calder is playing with an injured wrist. 2. Kopecky, while I like him, hasn't played in forever. He's a rookie. Depth with the wingers isn't depleted by any stretch of the imagination. Forcinga rookie in smack dab in the middle of his first playoff action after a 4-5 month layoff, when he hasn't done anything to turn any heads, is not a wise idea to me. Kopecky has certainly impressed, but not to the extent right now to earn ice time.

CdnWingsFanEh 2 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Hudler should be in. If Calder's wrist is so injured he can only play 4 min, why not put in Hudler for a game, and put some more offense into the lineup? We could use some more right now, rather than another guy who is playing tentatively b/c he's injured.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 calder played under 4 minutes , hes got to go Wow, you are a dumbf*** if I've ever seen one. Did you not see the part of him having a BROKEN HAND? Sorry he isn't Mario Lemieux and can't play his best through every obstacle thrown at him. Hudler should be in. scotzman 29 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 Here's the thing I don't get... if indeed Calder's hand is broken, why not put someone healthy into the lineup? Nothing against Calder from me, I love the guy, but anyone can see he is not playing the same as when we picked him up. I don't care who we dress or even if they sit on the bench, I would just rather have the option of a healthy body out there. Hell, call up someone from GR for all I care. No matter what, I think the Wings will be fine. No need to PANIC!
