Dom is accustomed to getting no credit, so he will be pleased, again, if Nick wins the Conn Smythe... provided we get to that point. Dom was just as worthy of the Conn Smythe in 2002 as Nick, but that's the way it goes.

Somehow, when Dom is stellar, his play generally ends up being attributed to the contributions of everyone else on the team and winds up having nothing to do with him at all... an interesting trend which I'll clearly never understand.

Dom is deserving but Nick is the most deserving on the team. I honestly don't think we could consistantly win without him. He just does EVERYTHING.

I mean...Dom TRIES to be a forward sometimes, but generally that ends in heartache ;)

It's not a knock against Dom, but I don't even know how anyone's been better than Nick. If he doesn't win it'll be because they want to spread the love around, I think.

If Lidstrom wasn't on the team then Dom should get it...by proxy Nick being on the team kind of cancels out the goalie even if he does play well, it's not fair, but it's the truth. If we had a lesser D Hasek might be able to stop 30-40 shots a agame and really steal victories, but that hasn't been the case. Dom's had 2 SO's..last night when the Wings simple DOMINATED the Ducks and blew them out (so it's not exactly stealing a game) and the better SO against the Sharks, which would have been a SO if Lidstrom didn't save a goal.

IMO Dom's best game was the one on my sig. Played absolutely fantastic that game. He's played consistantly good, and many times great. I think out of all the players though Lidstrom has been the MOST consistantly good player. Dom's getting better as he goes, so we'll see

Agreed. While Dom has been great, Lidstrom has just been flawless! There was a play last night in which two Ducks were pressuring him in our zone on the pk, and he ever so patiently faked and got out of the way from the both of them and made a perfect outlet pass. *It was much better than I'm actually stating and he's done it several times* but yeah I just thought wow could Nick be anymore incredible?

He's saved us so many times in the playoffs, and has been a huge difference between winning and losing. Like I said, he's just flawless out there. I'm always taken back when I see him play. It never gets old.

Not sure if this pic has been posted, but it was after the game last night in Anaheim.

Hahaha that is great!

....

I bet I know what you were thinking...

Anyway to me, the MVP so far has to be Nick. With how depleted the d is, along with the fact he's close to leading the leauge in playoff points, is amazing. They've all played well which is a great thing, big guns, roll players, rookies, and of course Dom, but Nick to me is the main cog.

I was at the game last night and I just need to make it known that the Ducks fans, at least in my section, were as classless as they come. It was a ridiculous display. My mom had peanuts and beers thrown at her, a middle-aged man got in a shoving match with my younger brother, etc., etc. It really ruined what should have been a fantastic night. I was completely turned off by the entire Ducks organization and their fans last night. Very disappointing.

There were lots of other Wings fans, though. Nice to see.

Minus the whole Pronger hit, that was a great game!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to see the Wings taking it to them on their home ice. It was a thing of beauty watching last nights game.

Holmstrom and Hasek were easily the best players on the team last night. They both played awesome. You've got to admire Holmstroms toughness from coming back from the hit too, even if he wasn't seriously injured. Hasek played a great game again tonight too.

Also, it's nice to see Bert finally get off the schneids and get a goal. Let's hope we can see some more production from him. We need him to start scoring on a consistant basis
