Duckboy6 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 the collective silence you hear is all the Detroit haters who just saw us at full power,.... i think they're afraid. The red wings did play at full power, but if the ducks played at full power, it wouldnt be close to 5-0. The ducks played possibly the worst game since a dallas game in 98. Embarrassing
whitneydatsyukrox 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Wow, TSN is really not riding on the Anaheim bandwagon at all anymore. It's wonderful! We just heard from Lidstrom as well, he talked briefly about how he is getting hit out there (as the main targeted defenseman now) but he tries to keep his head up and pass the puck as soon as he can when someone's coming after him. Airborn 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Wow! What a game for the Wings. - Major props to Babcock for switching things up to get the team going - Stars of the game were Bert, Homer, Z, Dats, and Flip - and Hasek of course. - On the Homer hit, I agree with the sentiment that Pronger did the damage with the forearm. Although Nidermayer taking 100 strides befoe the hit didn't help.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Another great win by the Wings and another great shutout game by Hasek. Even after Detroit eliminated my Sharks, I was hoping the Wings would go on to the Cup, mainly because I didn't like the Ducks, but now I'm actually beginning to like this Wings team. BTW I wonder if the league will have the guts to overrule the on-ice officials and suspend Pronger instead of Niedermayer? It looked to me after watching many replays that it was Pronger not Niedermayer that went for the head shot. Trust me. There are a lot of Wings fans who are starting to retrospectively like the Sharks. After what Anaheim and Calgary have shown in these playoffs, it only proves that the Sharks have a classy team. Good for the players and that organization.
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Nothing is more satisfying than to hear the Ducks' arena announcer go "Final score: Detroit Red Wings...five, Anaheim Ducks...zero" This was the Wings' A-game you've been hearing about....puck possession, and the Ducks couldn't handle it. If the Wings' play game 4 like they did today, the Ducks better make an adjustment quick, or they're looking at a 3-1 deficit heading back to Hockeytown...... However, I didn't like how our powerplay looked towards the end of the game..... Man, pulling Giguere was a panic move. In the coaching arena, Detroit > Anaheim. Pulling Giguere was just a move to try and motivate the team.....but I agree...Babcock > Carlyle
StoleYourYsebaert 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 It should be #1 Homer #2 Dom #3 Lidstrom Or something like that It should be 1 Homer 2 Dom 3 Lidstrom 4 Filppula 27 Teddy Ruxpin 28 Chris Osgood 36 Todd frikken Marchant. I guess they're rewarding him for that killer playoff beard.
Guest bullocks Report post Posted May 16, 2007 all the TSN guys are saying Pronger might get suspended for that hit. They said Pronger didn't have a hit up to that point, it was 4-0, and Pronger and Holmstrom had been going at eachother all night, the hit was from behind and it was a obvious headshot. Im hoping he gets atl least a game, that would be huge on our behalf, it would look good on Pronger too. one of them also said how since holmstrom was back on the ice in the third, that the NHL...even tho they shouldnt, might take that into consideration...either way, i say he gets a game. Salviaman 104 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Great job by Babs for fixing the lines, they looked great out there. I am glad that Holmstrom is ok, he is the MAN!!! And as always Lidstrom played great and Hasek was awesome out there, if he keeps this up there is no way we lose to a team named the "Ducks". LETS GO WINGS!!!!!!! Kill em in Game 4 too please!!! One of us...one of us... Heh, just kidding. Glad to see a Sharks fan honestly appreciating our team, though. Hey, everyone's gotta have a second favorite, right? BTW I wonder if the league will have the guts to overrule the on-ice officials and suspend Pronger instead of Niedermayer? It looked to me after watching many replays that it was Pronger not Niedermayer that went for the head shot. If Pronger gets suspended, I'll be amazed. He's Anaheim's star and the league doesn't want to take away a team's star player. Every time I see him play, though, I'm thankful that we have Nick.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 (edited) It should be #1 Homer #2 Dom #3 Lidstrom Or something like that I seriously believe the NHL/media will go to any length to disrespect Hasek... truly. What a joke. Marchant gets the third star for being the only Yuck to not spend the night in the box or try to kill a Red Wing? savaking72 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Good job tonight. I thought tonight was going to be a tuff game for us because of the flight. Way to prove me wrong! They did nothing wrong...perfect game guys. Maybe a plus...Ya think that Pronger will get Punished for the hit on Holmstrom? I think he will get fined, and a 1 game suspension (either or probably). Holmstrom....way to dominate tonight!

It looked to me after watching many replays that it was Pronger not Niedermayer that went for the head shot. The fact that Pronger wasn't penalized on the play has no barring on a potential suspension, all the TSN guys think Pronger will be suspended and I will be shocked if he is not. As Duthie mentioned, this hit was worse than Radulov's on Cheechoo in round one, which got him suspended......
