Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 20, 2007 Man.. talk about depressing. One could just see the SBC Arena implode after that. What a hideous goal, too... what a terrible mess-up by the Sabres` defense. Whatever. I doubt we'd have problems with the Sens` one big line. They've got nobody else and we've proven that we've got the potential to have four scoring lines. I was more worried about Buffalo.. they've got tremendous scoring depth, and Miller is honestly a deity compared to Emery. RIP Sabres; you're a great team and I know you'll be back to compete for it all next year.

Remember Stevie in 2002? He posed with it, picked it up, and took it into the locker room. That's Stevie, and we won. It can't be wrong.
glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 (edited) Overall Sens probably deserve to go through. but today I really feel bad for the Sabres and Ryan Miller especially. the guy was awsome. Edited May 20, 2007 by glasgowcelticwing
IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 Did the Sabres suffer the curse of the Presidents Cup??? I still think whoever wins the Western Conference, Wins the Cup. Hopefully it will be us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think Miller is a little overated. I have watched a bit of him this year and he gets frustrated to easily. How old is he? Fairly young still? Cuase if thats the case he should be really good. Maybe this year will be a good learning experince for him.
JayUp88 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I was torn between who i wanted to go to the finals. Buffalo has such a great fan base and great young team, but then again i always like to see a team from canada do good.

Captain_Yzerman19 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I would have rather have seen Buffalo, but congrats to Ottawa. So how long of a rest do these guys get? Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing? According to Eklund, The Stanley Cup Championship begins on May 29th. So to answer your question, 10 days... if Eklund is right. Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I proposed this idea previously but what's Don Cherry's reaction going to be if the Sens win the cup? They'll return the cup to Canada but with a European captain for the first time. Personally I'm loving the very idea of this and would be happy to see it go down even if it means Detroit doesn't win the cup. Easily the second best outcome I could envision. Guest jaytan Report post Posted May 20, 2007 Well, Heatley and the boys moved on.... Hopefully, this doesn't mean we're doomed, but I'm scared. Look. two years in a row, a warm-weather club has beaten a Canadian club in seven games. Detroit's not exactly a warm weather place.

Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 (edited) A couple of posters on the message boards over at SensNation.com are already talking about a Detroit/ottawa matchup and exacting revenge on Dom, who "refused" to play in last year's playoffs. Regardless, I am glad for the Senators. They have been my second favorite team after the Red Wings for a while now and for the last few years when Detroit couldn't seem to get past the second round, I said since we couldn't win the Cup I'd like Ottawa to get it. However, when we play them in the Final, all bets are off. I am a Red Wing fan first and foremost and just like the players on the ice who have to put aside friendships and in some cases, familial ties, my allegiance is for my team. It's Red Wings all the way, baby! Edited May 20, 2007 by Yzermania19

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 (edited) The last time they won the "Cup" was 1927!! Long time. And keep in mind, that wasn't even the same "Ottawa Senators" franchise that we know today. Just as different as the Minnesota Wild and the Minnesota North Stars. Henkka 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 They really deserve it. Bryan Murray is my man. We owe for him a lot. He build the 90's Wings. I want to win him, but he is maybe the best person to lose.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 The Sens are a good team. The Wings can still handle them though. Buffalo is suffering from the Presidents Trophy curse. It's that simple. No way a team that good should go out in 5 like that, even if it the Conference Finals.
NMUSTU 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I would have rather have seen Buffalo, but congrats to Ottawa. So how long of a rest do these guys get? Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing? i was going to ask the same question. i think rest is going to be a big factor in this, even a couple days rest can do wonders for the legs, and if the wings keep it up i can see 6-7 games for us, which would only give us a couple days rest compared to a 10 day break. though it could also go in our favor if they get rusty. dw185 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 grats to the sens! I wanted to see Buffalo win and thats who my pick was to win that series, but looks like they didn't have it in them this series. If the wings win this round, my pick is gonna be wings over the sens in 6 games again. If the ducks win this round, my pick is gonna be sense over ducks in 5. I think the ducks got nothing on the sens, and definitely nothing on the wings, but hey, anything could happen. I think San Jose was a better team than the ducks are. for the wings to be on par with their previous performances against a supposedly better team in the 3rd round is pretty good IMO
