ltgator333 3 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 well for the sake of argument derailment, whether they should or not is not the real question.. they couldn't trade him for anything of value right now anyway. he's always hurt, nobody wants to gamble on that. DreamsofHope 2 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 I don't think they should trade Kronwall at all. Yes he has had a run of bad luck, but I see amazing potential in this kid, and think he is the future of this team. Offensive upside, open ice hits, continuing to improve defensively. I look at what he did in the Olympics and KNOW he can do that for this team. I am excited to see what the future holds for him! Just stay healthy Kronner! kylee 727 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 i really like the way Kronner plays. he certainly isn't "Nik Jr" for one, they play two very different styles of D, but i do like this guy a lot. i highly doubt the Wings would trade him or anything like that, he inked a 5 year deal this season. and i love his "bee sting" checks on the opposition! Matt 1,049 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 He's not tradable at this point in time.
StaticWithABeat 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 He's been way overhyped the past few years so it's easy to want him traded, especially with no-namer Lebda coming out of nowhere and outperforming him at both ends of the ice. I highly doubt he's going anywhere - especially with that big new contract of his - but if we could fetch a reasonable substitute for him I wouldn't complain. I ask you this, if he has so much potential, and he is locked up long term, for a reasonable price, why wouldn't anyone want him?

I ask you this, if he has so much potential, and he is locked up long term, for a reasonable price, why wouldn't anyone want him? injuries for one .......5 years might be to long to scare off some teams , maybe if it was 3 yrs instead theyd take him....what you gotta think though is if the wings staff didnt believe in him he wouldnt of gotten that deal , and thats all i care about , there track record speaks for itself , i believe in kronwall the guy has amazing talent , hes just had bad luck with injuries, look at that fluke injury he got in the 1st round of the playoffs , that badluck is due to change and i think in 2 yrs we'll all be saying how we got an awesome deal..............................and as i said before theres no point talking about trading him cause realistically even if it was possible to trade him we all know it wont happen since they just locked him , hes not going anywhere for a while, deal with it

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 He needs to demonstrate a season of healthy playing before he's tradeable. Personally I think the Wings missed the boat if they wanted to trade him, his value was high mid-season. Sure, he's had health problems, but those don't explain his mental breakdowns and giveaways. The Wings have Kindl, Quincey, Meech, Ericsson, and Lebda - Kronwall, what with his lapses and apparent inability to maximize his potential, is expendable. evilmrt 636 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 see how he does through mid-season and then decide. he's awesome when hes wearing the blue and yellow....so its possible that this could be his year in red and white.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted June 1, 2007 I personally am torn with this topic i can argue either side of this arguement First: no, he has tremendous potential. Our scouting and management teams are amongst the best in the business. That he attained such as a massive contract shows that those teams have faith in him, and they have rarely been wrong on such issues. Were the answer yes, you'd still see no team lining up to pick up a five-year, $15m contract. This is a popular opinion in just about every 'trade Kronwall' thread: He has such a huge pool of potential, but no one would want him. I ask you this, if he has so much potential, and he is locked up long term, for a reasonable price, why wouldn't anyone want him? ....because of his injury bug. Also, you've seen all the players whom we developed into stars whilst nobody else wanted them--haven't you?
skacore 2 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 If they can get another good young defenceman , Yes "We'll give you an injury prone young defenseman who isn't all that young for your equally skilled YOUNG defenseman who can play a full season, interested?" glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 NO, don't give up on him...his luck has to change. I agree, Not so long ago he was being talked up as the second coming of Lids . then after a couple of injury ravaged season's he's a washout?? I think the guy was maybe hyped up a little with the comparisons to Lids , that must have put him under a lot of pressure . Give him time and hopefully if he can stay healthy and get an uninterupted run in the team ,he'll prove himself to be a solid defenceman for the Wings. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 Nah, not at this time. His trade value is in the crapper for the time being regardless because he just cannot catch a break with injuries. I like the way he plays. Not afraid to be physical and I still think he has good offensive upside. And he's still fairly young. I'm nowhere near giving up on Krownall. If he starts tearing it up with the Wings close to when his 5-year deal ends, who knows what he might bring as trade bait, but that's way, way too early to even consider now, and for now I think he is an absolute keeper. FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 No,but he needs to stay healthy AND get Schneider-type of minutes. He wasn't 2006 IHWC's MVP because he's a great stay-at-home defenseman...
