T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted June 14, 2007  :carrot: "I don't want my legacy to be about the numbers, or how many trophies I won, I want it to be that I was a competitor, and that my teammates believed in me. That's what's most important to me. That my teammates know, when I'm in the net, I'm the man, I'm the right person for them. And that I never gave up." - Dominik Hasek

Booster313 138 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 I have not always been a fan of Dom. My good friend and Red Wings confidante can attest for that, given our many arguments about the man. Some which actually evolve into us not speaking for a couple of days. Dom earned my respect this last year, first with his signing so cheap and again now, not requiring a big raise. The line about Dom being about winning, got me. Props Dom, I am very happy with this news. ( Note: I am pretty sure Dom is stoked! Considering it was a goal of his to win my respect. ) Icemunkee, Dom called me and said he was very happy to have earned yours as well as many other Detroit fans this year. He was happy to know that there will be no more arguments between us this year. He's looking forward to continuing to impress you this season. Oh and last but not least he's going for a 10 and 1 playoff series win record after this coming season.

ltgator333 3 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 Well being we're out of goaltending prospects this was a had-to-do kinda thing. The only thing that pisses me off about this is it'll be another year before Detroit can start developing a franchise goalie... I've probably said it before and will again- the last goaltender Detroit developed from a draft pick is sitting on the bench watching Dom play.. it's been that long since they've actually done that. The goaltending revolving door is getting old. But it's all but done like dinner now, so in that case I do think that Dom was the best goaltender for the money out there. If they wanted a real-deal FA goalie like Giguere, they were going to have to pay several million dollars for him. And if they were wanting to keep it under a couple million, they were looking at guys that really aren't much better than Osgood, whose already signed, and cheap. So yeah, Dom ok whatever.
