ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 (edited) didnt realize they had this much money. Drury AND Gomez.....im still in awe. Does this mean Shanny is coming back to Detroit? Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 might as well etch their names on the stanley cup now. Hardly. Defense wins championships.. Besides, how is this even possible? Didnt they spend all there money on Gomez?
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 Looks to be another offseason of the Rangers getting increasingly North American. I dont think its a coincidence.
Guest Agalloch Report post Posted July 1, 2007 LOL, because they overpay two centers that had points in the mid sixties, we should etch their names on the Cup? Wow.
stevie for president 42 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 i see where youre coming from but not many defense can shut down jagr, drury, gomez, maybe shanny, straka, hossa, and prucha, avery gave them an added dimension, they have a great checking line and a top-knotch 4th line, and one of the best young goalies in the game. stevie for president 42 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 LOL, because they overpay two centers that had points in the mid sixties, we should etch their names on the Cup? Wow. ok please tell me what they signed drury for because its not in that link, and unless it was for around or above 8 mil a season it wasnt overpayed. and gomez had 60 points and lead the team in plus/ minus. thats pretty impressive if you ask me. LeftWinger 5,132 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 ...anyone ready for an original 6 SCF? Detroit vs. Rags! NOW THAT IS RATINGS!!!!
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 LOL, because they overpay two centers that had points in the mid sixties, we should etch their names on the Cup? Wow. Gomez was never actually allowed to play in New Jersey. In a free-wheeling offensive system, he should be able to put up numbers close to the 100 point mark. WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 Even though the cap is set at $50.3M, teams can still spend up to $55M. They just need to find a way to get rid of that $5M by the start of the season. That is my only logical explanation for how Sather was able to pull this one off.
