Saran 1 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 It was actually scored by Downey but NHL.com has the wrong player under Downey's numbr 20.

kylee 727 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 to be honest, i was not impressed by grigorenko at all tonight. and i realize its just the pre-season, and on top of that pre season game number one, but he just looked sloppy out there.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 I am shocked, just shocked at who started such a retarded thread. just teasing ya. Seriously though- conditioning (and this half hearted skating and crappy ends of the shift) aside he played pretty well for someone without half-decent linemates. He's a damn-fine passer, that's for sure. Needs to shoot the puck though.

Yeah I think you really need to see him on a line with a couple of decent players so we can see what kind of skills he has instead of seeing if his line can get the puck in the zone and try to make something happen. Downey and Cullen just seem to want to get the pucks in deep and grind and bang like they do whereas if he was with Datysuk and Homer or something they would have more of a tendency to hang onto the puck and make something happen. I barely saw Grigs tonight and he didn't look that great but he did get a point.

Why on earth would they place their most coveted offensive prospect on the 3rd line with grinders during pre-season? We'll see where he's at for game 2 tomorrow night, but I doubt both Dats and Z will be in the lineup. I would like to see this kid get at least 5 games on the top line during the preseason. If he can't produce, then ship him to Grand Rapids.

Aris 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2007 (edited) According to Ansar Khan, Grigorenko won't be playing at all tomorrow. Here's the lines he said will be on the ice tomorrow: Forwards Jiri Hudler-Henrik Zetterberg-Mikael Samuelsson Dan Cleary-Valtteri Filppula-Kris Draper Matt Ellis-Mark Hartigan-Brett Englehardt Mattias Ritola-Evan McGrath-Neil Clark Defense Nicklas Lidstrom-Brian Rafalski (questionable) Niklas Kronwall-Brett Lebda Kyle Quincey-Derek Meech Seems like the organization isn't interested in Grigorenko at all. Nah, as Ben said- it's because the Wings are alternating the lines right now. As in the forward lines that played yesterday are resting now to let the other people have a shot.
