chelios4eva 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2007 Anybody else seeing Chelios? I mean is this the same guy who got his first and only goal in the playoffs last year? Who got, I think what? 10 or 11 assist within 80 or so games? Is this the same "washed up " Chelios who should be removed to let the "young guys play". Who can't score points, and is pretty much only on the team to mentor (which he still is) and to P.K (which he still is) I"m not positive with the stats, but I think he has 4 points within two games right? 2 goals 2 assists, maybe 1 assist but I'm positive there are 2 goals..... HOW????!!!! All I've gotta say is keep rolling and don't let this just be a preseason thing.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted September 22, 2007 Maybe he's got a new reason to play the game. The whole thing with the deaths at his resturant may have him giving 150% every night now, Im just guessing, but you never know.

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted September 22, 2007 At his age there are no "gears" anymore. He has to be in top shape all the time because as you age (I know for experience) it is extremely hard to get back into shape once you lose a bit. Why am I saying this? Because Chelios is in the same shape now as he will be in April. Therefore he will kick ass in the pre-season, because he knows he can't use the preseason to get his 45 year old ass into shape. It already is in shape. So for now he has a leg up, but come regular season he will be playing his normal role with the normal points associated with that role. toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted September 22, 2007 Preseason doens't really mean anything, so I wouldn't think too much of it at this point. MacLean lead teh entire NHL in scoring during preseason one year and he can't even crack an NHL roster.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted September 22, 2007 Preseason doens't really mean anything, so I wouldn't think too much of it at this point. MacLean lead teh entire NHL in scoring during preseason one year and he can't even crack an NHL roster. Preseason could be an indicator, but he's racking up points because he's playing. Come regular season, he's not going to get as much ice time in crucial situations. But last year's playoffs should prove to every critic that Chelios is only "washed up" due to lack of playing time. The more time he's given, in more crucial situations, the better he is.
