Martin Havlat injured in game vs Wild

Call me crazy but I see us being good enough to beat Chicago handedly whether they have Havlet or not, now I think we may under estimate them more so than normal. Lord knows the Wings aren't above beating teams they should dominate.

Needless to say I hope him a speedy recovery, I want the Central to be as competitive as possible.

When isnt Havlat injured? I wouldn't want that guy on our squad. That's for sure.

The only true question is, which player will play more games this year, Havlat or Forsberg(if he ever gets signed)? lol

It's kinda sad. Not that I'm a Hawks fan or anything, but this team really needs to start being competitive. Chicago could (no, actually should) be a great hockey city. I was hoping that they would finally turn the corner. Having a good Wings/Hawks rivalry will not only make things more interesting, but would be great for the league.

I totally agree, I am a die hard Wings fan, but I would love to see ALL the O-6 teams put good, solid, competitive teams on the ice. When the Hawks and Wings went toe to toe in 95 WCF's it was very cool.

its weird... i feel the same way.

like, i want chicago to be good. the nashvilel mini-rivalry is cool and all, but im not sure if nashville is going to be able to play like they did last year, let alone get better, so to have chicago improve (on the shoulders of bobby lang) it would be great to see.

as much as i know chicago fans literally hate the red wings and us who are the fans, i still want them to get better.

on the positive side:

bulin wall looked good last night. crazy.

I remember the Wings/Hawks '95 WCF very fondly. That series had a real electricity to it: lots of one goal games, excellent pace, good physicality. Chelios and Belfour were monsters in that series! Probably the only recent Wings series to give me close to that same feeling was last year's Sharks matchup.

Agreed, the Hawks sure didn't lose that series because of Belfour he played out of his mind if I remember correctly.....

A lot of people forget how scary Belfour used to be to play against. In recent years he has been pretty ordinary, but in the early to mid '90s, he was totally ridiculous to play against. And really, REALLY hard to beat.

Just saw on CBC that Martin Havlat was hurt during a a scrum, he was favoring his right shoulder and immedietly left the ice crouched over. That would be a huge loss for the Hawks, they just can't seem to stay healthy

Another note on this topic, I really, REALLY miss CBC, it's the only drawback to having DirecTV. :(
