Yeah i saw that...i dont know what the hell Carcillo was thinking there, he's tough but is no match for Hordichuk.

I like Carcillo. He was on pace to hit 400 PIM's this year before that idiot Roenick injured him. I'd kill for us to have a guy like that on the Wings.

Oh hell yeah, me too. I'd give anything to have a guy like him. Didnt mean to sound like i was knocking Carcillo if thats how you took it, just that Hordichuk is out of his class right now of guys he should be tangling with is all. I wish we had guys like this in our minors that we could get excited about....

The Parros TKO of Cote was amazing. That was probably the most lopsided win of the season, yes? And Cote asked George to go again later in the game, but got turned down! Big heart, that kid.

Pretty cool piece on Yahoo! about the Sharks acquiring Jody Shelley.

Gotta love the "Absolutely" response when asked about fighting Parros. I hate it when guys beat around the bush and dont acknowledge an obvious fact!

Well, there's that Matthias kid. He's.......oh wait, nevermind.

For those who weren't around back then, maybe these team statistics from the various 1980s editions of the Detroit Red Wings will help explain why some of us have so much nostalgia for the era of the Bruise Brothers.

1985-86 Red Wings. Ten players with over 100 PIM!

1886-87 Red Wings. Probert, Kocur and Gallant all with over 200 PIM, and Basil McRae almost made it 4.

1987-88 Red Wings. Probert with 398 PIM. This was the year he scored 29 goals and made the All-Star team.

Old time hockey.

I was thinking about that just the other day. Just how many players on the who Wings played physical/nasty and would and did drop the gloves. It's why it makes me laugh when people complain about the Ducks.

Probert, Kocur, Gallant, Snepsts, Norwood, Bridgman, and on and on...

Sweet! There was just a semi- line brawl in the MON/NYR game.

Hollweg hit S. Kostisyn from behind, Gorges and Koivu came to his defence, everyones gloves come flying off. Francis friggin Bouillon shows he got some balls by dropping the mits with Colton Orr! and gets a draw out of it. I love hockey fights so much :D.

Colton Orr

6-3 222lbs

Boullion

5-8 196lbs

Boullion is one tough hombre. The fight was a draw but if it were a boxing match, that one would've been scored 10-9 Bouillion. He tagged Orr with a beauty of a right hand plumb on the kisser.

That sounds reminiscent of when Taylor friggin' Pyatt fought Ivanans and did extremely well, or to a lesser extent Nash/Vandermeer, one of those things that leaves you in awe thinking.."what the hell just happened here?!!" I love moments like that where guys who dont fight much or not at all get inspired and do well against legit tough guys.

I can't wait until our game against Toronto this Saturday... I've from Toronto so even though I don't like them Leafs are still kinda my #2 team, and maybe I'm biased but CBC Saturday night games just get me so much more pumped.

Last game against the Leafs in preseason they managed to squeeze 2 fights out of us and we didn't have a very tough line up (Cleary, Grigorenko). With all the Leaf's injuries they have Belak, Ondrus, Newbury all up in the line up.. on top of Tucker, Gill

I don't want to hope for an injury but I would love to see Downey and Drake both in... Drake could hold his own against Newbury, Ondrus, Tucker but I don't like Downey's chances against Belak... maybe he can sucker Ondrus to go

either way I think there are some good match ups and I can't wait

The only Wing who's fought anybody outside of the Western Conference has been Lilja (twice), so if theres a fight....my money is on Lilja vs Ondrus or Newbury!

The main event ska, would have to be Gill and Lilja though :P

Seriously, I'd love to see some fights against TO. I know alot of Toronto fans, we always beat them anyways, so it'd be nice to see some rough stuff.

Lilja would kill Gill. Gill is a hugger who's afraid to throw punches.

Colton Orr is too inconsistent a fighter to ever be considered a top heavyweight. Bouillon is tougher than what his size shows, but he shouldn't be on par with Orr.

Nice! Godard gets crazy, Cujo leaves the crease (nothing further though), and Sarich hands Glencross his ass for a welcoming gift in a good fight.

Im thinking Phanuef will go with Moreau again before the nights over, as Moreau pretty much jumped him in their fight earlier in the game.
