esteef 2,679 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 I love me some Toews. Are you saying you have a Toews fetish?!
Izzy24 44 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 Obviously not Jeez, I was just saying I'd love to have him on the wings. Not that I wish he had drafted him. No, when you said you wished he was a Wing, it was implicit that you wished he would have been a Detroit draft pick, and that you also wanted the dismal record necessary to have gotten him. Don't try to back out of that statement now. What's to stop Chris Chelios from scoring a goal like that? Nothing, he can do that whenever he wants to, he just doesn't feel the need to stroke his ego with a highlight reel goal like that Toews kid.
Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 'That was one of those great scores that you will see all season long' Did you hear the colour commentator on that? Who says that?
2probert4 8 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 Just noticed his jersey number too. He a Stevie fan? He is a big Yzerman fan, and vice versa. He spoke about how excited he was to play in the Joe also.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted October 21, 2007 You'll notice that it was Mike Haynes, Avalanche homer extraordinaire, who was yelling and screaming about the goal. That says something. I've listened to it quite a few times--lol.
zata40 3 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 we should have traded lang for their first round draft pick last year then we might have gotten him. or was he drafted the year before that? idk.

I've listened to it quite a few times--lol. I always thought Haynesbot was their radio broadcaster. Unless their TV broadcaster, who's also a robot programmed to be an extreme homer, is currently undergoing repairs.

Actually as noted when he signed Joe Sakic is his idol, that is why he wears #19. It was a big deal for him this weekend to get to meet Sakic after the morning skate prior to the Av's game in Chicago. The press covering it said the kid was shaking and stuttering. Thats, cool, Sak-itch is definitely idol worthy. Matter of fact, I was recently wondering why Vancouver didn't ever trade the farm to get the hometown boy back. I know its easier said than done, but how can you not try to build an organization around a hometown "Burnaby Joe" Sak-itch?
Guest Canadian Wings Report post Posted October 23, 2007 we should have traded lang for their first round draft pick last year then we might have gotten him. or was he drafted the year before that? idk. he was drafted two years ago 3rd overall... hmmm and if we traded lang for their first round pick that would have been kane...but for some reason u prolly already knew that

Somebody better inform the PA... http://www.nhlpa.com/PlayerOfTheDay/index....Date=2007-10-22 Streaking down the ice in the #19 jersey he wears in honour of his favourite player (the legendary Steve Yzerman) Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks is ready to reverse the fortunes of the Chicago Blackhawks much in the same way his idol did for the Red Wings some 20 years ago.
