I checked the box score and it looks like it was a penalty-ridden, awful game. We know how you feel. Dallas is streaky, they just got the upper hand tonight, that's all. But Filpula really needs to get a goal, I think he may just have no confidence anymore, he had like 5 great opportunities to score, granted he was stoned by Tellqvist twice, but he had an open net once and didnt score. I was soo happy Z got a goal and Maltby was the 1st star of the game. Go Wings! That was my first game at "Jobing.com Arena" tonight. Wow, that arena is SO much better than the Joe that its crazy! Also, no stupid suits everywhere like you see at all the Detroit home games anymore. People were actually into the game (both sides). Tons of fellow displaced michiganders, seemed like. WTF was up with the country music and the dancing cheerleaders though? And yeah, I don't understand how Tellqvist got a star... 5 goals against = a star? okay.... Amazing what happens when you go to a new arena, it's nicer then the Joe. What a shock. Great West Coast trip! Everyone played pretty damn good tonight. I am afraid the Red Wings may become the charity team for league parity on penalties, and thus will get more than their fair share this season. The incorrect call on Homer last night for interference (he was not in the crease, as it turns out - video proved it) which took away a Wings goal is an example. The same thing happened on the other end, with a Phoenix player interfering with Dom, which resulted in a goal for the Yoties. No call there, but I for one was totally unsurprised by that. This isn't a conspiracy theory, it's just the way it is. All the Wings can do is play even smarter and make the league recognize superior effort on the ice, or risk looking like the fools we know the league brass to be.
