interminded 1 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 Not trying to hijack this thread, but what ever happend to there Swedish goaltending prospect, I forget his name right now, but I see he is not on the Griffins roster, I assume he returned to the SEL? Stefan Liv. He returned to the SEL indeed. Plays for HV71 Jonkoping now.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 This is why I love the Wings' goalie situation. Dom can get a bit of rest when he ails (which, being his age, I can tell you happens), Ozzie can hop right in there and go, and we have Jimmy to call up and get a bit of experience so he and Ozzie can be the next great duo for the Wings when Dom takes his well-earned retirement. It's a beautiful world. Re: Liv. Too bad he went back to Sweden. I was hoping that someday we'd have a "Swedish Six" on the ice. 'Twould have been cool. puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 explanation not that it will make any difference to some, but this could be the reason Dom hasn't had the best start this season. Or it could just be the way it is, same as with several other elite NHL goalies looking sub-par in the stats column so far this season, too. Of course, Dom is a Red Wing, so no loss is acceptable or forgiveable, regardless of circumstances.

As Yoda once said, "There is a....no....ther Swed....ish goalie pros....pect". Daniel Larsson is playing pretty damn well this year. He's third in the SEL save percentage with 92.67% and 3 shutouts in 13 games.
The Noodle 39 14 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 Yea always heard great things about Liv and would have loved to see him play. But it looks like our future is a goalie named Jimmy Howard....

Many of our Swedes are young. There is still a chance. Use the force, Kenny!

Well in all fairness, I'm at work right now, and tha game is being recorded, so I don't know how it's going (haven't been in GDT so I don't see the score) Hope he's playing well!
