Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Meech did great. Better then any game Kronner/Lebda have been in this year. I think he just proved his worth, hopefully he can get a few more games under his belt to prove he is solid enough on a constant basis so we can lean on him the length of the season to contribute when called upon. or contribute enough, where he draws in some looks from teams who are lacking in the defensive department. and we can package him for a top 6 forward . ANYWAY GREAT GAME REX GOT A GOAL WEWT@@@
Nero 20 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Thank you Canucks for a much more entertaining game. Fellow Wings fans, in case angry Canucks fans show up and complain about their disallowed goal, please show them the following: Rule 78.j In the event that a goalkeeper has been pushed into the net together with the puck after making a stop, the goal will be disallowed. If applicable, appropriate penalties will be assessed. http://www.nhl.com/hockeyu/rulebook/rule78.html#j Ozzie was clearly pushed in.

Guest Canadian Wings Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Could you please tell Anaheim that? Good game! Canucks couldn't deal with Zata, Dats and Homer... in hindsight u have to give the ducks credit for going to the net by any means and i ******* hate those quackers - doesnt make it right tho... Pyatt WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR OZZIE?! lol Must be due to the 4 SOG total for the 3rd period. Fun to listen to Larsheid and Shorthouse on the Vancouver feed. They really have great things to say about the Wings organization, and love the ZDH, especially how hard Z and D work on defense, and how awesome Lidstrom is. I realized tonite how awesome it is to listen to the game on the Bose headphones. Picks out individual crowd shouts, rattles on the boards, its great. Well, its almost 10:30 here (he, he) better get ready to call it a night. Cheers all.
Seraph 240 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Watching ZDH with Lids on the blue line is just poetry. This is what hockey is about. Even Zetts' breakaway and subsequent save by Luongo was beautiful. That's some good hockey for you.
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 i'm scared for when franzen comes back. especially if it breaks up z dats and homer. this team's got some real chemsitry going, even the second line has been clicking lately. i hope franzen coming in and changing up our top lines doens't disturb that. good game tonight. i didn't think the wings were great, vancouver definitely had more jump and were skating harder for most of the game, but we did enough to win. nice to see hudler have some space to use his talent. lidstrom made quite a few bonehead plays in our end tonght, one of which resulted in a goal. of course he also made several beautiful plays, but i'd say just a so-so game for him. meech looked good, i was surprised. got some decent ice-time, too. auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) Man I was in and out, as in sleep, in the last half of the third. Very happy the Wings won last night. I had a dream after the game that the Canucks scored and it went into OT. That was depressing. Edited October 29, 2007 by auxlepli
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Well I just watched the highlights. I'm surprised Homer's goal wasn't called back. He was almost in the blue when he made the shot. Luongo definitely got undressed on the Wings' second goal. That goal was beautiful. Hudler's was too. That was an incredible shot. I'm surprised the NHL showed Vancouver's third goal. Looks like to me it could have gone either way. Was there an overhead shot of that play?

The goal was disallowed becase Pyatt knocked the puck in by knocking the goalkeeper in, and did so after the whistle.

Louisville 112 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Very quotable! If Heroes of Hockeytown was still around I'd probably change my sig to your quote, but as it stands now it's kind of a memorial to him. What happened to him?

Ashenden 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Fun side note: I went to Vancouver to see the game and while walking around Robson Street a couple of hours before face off, I saw Hasek in a store shopping for shoes! I was going to have him sign my tickets, but he had a hooded sweatshirt on with his hood over his head, so I figured it would be better to give him some privacy. The game was great to see at GM Place, it's a very nice arena. Dats looked a little off last night, making some very un-Datsyukian giveaways and the D looked discombobulated in the first 2 periods (24 shots after 2 periods). They shored it up for the third. Vancouver fans were pissed about the waived goal. Someone threw a slice of pizza onto the ice while the refs were conferring.

He has his clothing company back in the Czech Replublic. Vancouver is a very hip internationally influenced city. As far as being a Wings fan at a Canucks game...many times I've been the only cracker playing basketball on the courts in downtown Detroit. I've been in "situations" shall we call them, all over the world. Now I live an hour south of Vancouver. The only time I was ever really nervous in my life is in Vancouver at a Wings game wearing my Wings Chelios jersey. Yes, sir, ree. Matter of fact, I won't do it again. edit: typo Edited October 29, 2007 by T.Low

Vancouver is a great city, you're probably right that Dom was czeching out the merchandise. Also, knowing Dom, it's possible he forgot his shoes. Said with much love, but that's very possible.
