cincywingfan 1 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 Heads up for everyone outside MI but in the US. The game is going to be on the NHL Network (340 on TW in Cincinnati). If you have center ice you may be out of luck unless you also get the NHL Network which just launched on TW last week. Those of you in MI won't have to worry as always. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 8-0 wings, chelios is in goal and gets all goals, including the 2 open netters at the end. He also fights tootoo, and gets in a fight with Chris Mason after he lets up 6 shots from a goalie on the other side of the ice.
WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) LINES FOR TONIGHT Hudler in, Kopecky & Drake out. Per Bruce MacLeod... Hudler on fourth line tonight Jiri Hudler has been working in with the second and third lines, but at this morning's skate, he was on the fourth line centered by Matt Ellis with Aaron Downey on the other wing. Dallas Drake worked in on that line. Tomas Kopecky looks like a healthy scratch as well, working in on the first line during the skate. Here's an early look at what might be the Wings' lines tonight against Nashville ... Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Franzen-Filppula-Samuelsson Cleary-Draper-Maltby Hudler-Ellis-Downey Lidstrom-Rafalski Lebda-Lilja Meech-Chelios Osgood (starts) Hasek Edited November 7, 2007 by WhiteLightning91

RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 I think it's very interesting that Ellis and Downey are getting the nod ahead of either Drake or Kopecky. Not necessarily disappointing, but interesting. It's encouraging, really, because I feel like Red Wings teams of the past would have stuck Drake and Kopecky in there without much question. Tonight's game against Nashville certainly feels a heck of a lot different than last year's games against 'em, but it still might provide for some feistiness. A nice, big Aaron Downey hit on Jordin Tootoo would be much preferred.
WhiteCloud 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 Check your cable company if the game is not showing up in your center ice package. I have IO in New Jersey and according to their site if you are signed up for Center Ice you get the NHL Channel too. I was nervous with all of the talk here and had to check. IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 Well, feels a little more like a big one this morning, but still doesn't match what it used to be. I hope yall aren't getting too jacked up to see something happen with Tootoo. He's gone 8 games now without even picking up a minor penalty, he's also put in 3 goals already, matching last season and 1 away from high highest ever, add in 2 assists and he's halfway to his career high after just 14 games. Don't know who starts tonight. Trotz hasn't been telling the goalies until the day of the game. Mason just won against Chicago on sunday, but Ellis is 4-0 with 2 shutouts. If you haven't watched the Preds this season, they're a much different team this year. They don't have that quick strike ability and don't have nearly the offensive output from the blueline as past years. They are a little bit grittier (not much) and a lot better defensively (when they want to be). Gelinas is coming back tonight, he's had some bad luck with injuries this season, cut his hand pretty bad in a team building trip to Fort Campbell, and then he walked into Erat's stick on the bench and got an eye injury. Hopefully he's ready to go now, he's proven to be a Wing killer in the past. Bonk is our best pickup so far this season. Very effective defensively and has been perhaps the most consistent goal scorer for us. Ortmeyer is finally settling in with the team and playing better. He hasn't lived up to the expectations that Rangers fans sent with him as far as penalty killing/shot blocking. But he's starting to pick it up. The most important thing to watch for at this point is the first goal of the game. Preds have been an all or nothing team this season, they're either going to win by 2-3 goals or lose by 3-4. and it usually depends on who scores first. Get up on them early and they tend to lose faith and wilt away. But if they score first, then they can focus on going into defensive shutdown mode and really frustrate the other team. Offensively like I said, they're not the same speedy, quick strike preds. In fact this team doesn't generate very much offense at all. But lately they have been converting on their limited chances. The playmakers are finally starting to click and find the back of the net. Arnott, Legwand, Erat, Radulov and Dumont all went through horrible slumps and it showed when we lost 6 in a row. Now they're back on their game and scoring again. I really think the Red Wings puck control system will frustrate the Predators and make their already low shot total go from 20 or so, down into the teens. Hopefully the Preds can capitalize on a mistake or two, but I really think it won't matter because I don't see the Preds defense being able to handle Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Holmstrom. Prediction... Preds - 1 Wings - 4 oh yeah... The Red Wings STILL SUCK! Nice post. I have to ask what is the team building excercise they did at Ft Campbell. I used to be stationed there and spent the larger and better part of my career there, wondering if I did what they did before. That is really cool. Unfortunately there is not to many hockey fans in the Army. Man, I used to love going down Nashville. I am a recruiter now in Michigan and I actually almost put in Legwand's cousin... Or so he said. I believed him becuase he described Nashville and Legs house pretty well. I hope that there is still some energy left and I think the preds will turn it around, just not this season. They have alot of work in the off-season. Good luck. Oh and PREDS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 I don't think there's much of a chance that Tootoo and Downey fight. Tootoo and, say, Hudler? Sure. Just because that's the kind of guy that Tootoo is. But I don't think we'll ever see the day when Jordin Tootoo fights a guy that is perceived to be even relatively tough. Unfortunately there is not to many hockey fans in the Army. Man, I used to love going down Nashville. well I believe they did some obstacle course type of stuff. kylee 727 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 i dunno folks, i just dont think this is going to be such an easy win as many people are saying here. i expect a hard fought game. close til the end, no score prediction. hopefully a good tootoo and downey fight thats the one thing ill give tootoo: when he's on the ice he just about always gives you something to love or hate depending on what team you root for. *fingers crossed*

kylee 727 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 another thing to look for tonight everybody: Zetterberg can set the Red Wings all time record for point streak to start a season at 15 games. against Nashville? well of course. wouldn't want it any other way. jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 For those of us w/ Center Ice, the game is being broadcast on NHL Network. I'm screwed here because Time Warner doesn't pick it up. So, if any of you were still wondering as to why CI didn't have it on, that's why. If anyone knows of an online stream for the game though, this young lad would be greatly appreciative.
