11/11 GDT: Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2

Don't worry, I know what the Red Wings are doing. They're going to purposefully lose every game to the Hawks, except their last. At that point, the Hawks will think the Wings suck (but only when we play them) and our last game we'll explode with our real skill, and beat them finally. It's all about the strategy. Pretty logical if you ask me.

At least Z gets his point.

Next Saturday's game against The Hawks just became VERY important to me.

It's like the 7th game of the playoff series, a must win. 0-4 would be... I can't even think about it.

On the bright side,we can expect Drake to score 2-3 points against his old team on Tuesday,Lang/Williams-style.

Good night everybody.

Well, I hope after watching tonight's game tapes they will tighten up our sloppy defense. Man, we looked like crap tonight.

I will have to listen to the Blues game on the radio...don't have Versus. I just hope they get things back togather for the next game. We can't be dropping points in our own division like this. Oh, bench Lilja on the next game-he's a moron.

A tough loss to be sure. It's unfortunate that we can't seem to play better against Chicago. It's also unfortunate that both the team's winning streak and Ozzie's winning streak come to an end tonight. We get another crack at them on Saturday, which is the bright side to this.

Anyway, not a very inspired effort from the guys tonight. Hank was able to extend his point streak, which is really the lone bright spot. There just wasn't any sort of flow at all to the Wings' game tonight. Like I kept saying, the Blackhawks have become very good at neutralizing the Red Wings offensive attack. It will be interesting to see how they adjust for Saturday.

Until Tuesday night, gang.

We lost, we suck..im off the bandwagon  ...every team has a team they have trouble with and it looks like the Hawks are going to play us tough all year. We will bounce back on Tuesday.

Just got back from the game. God, I love Chicago (the city) and everything, but Blackhawks fans are pricks. I wasn't wearing any Detroit garb, so I wasn't targeted, but the ratio of "Detroit Sucks" to "Let's Go Hawks" chants was probably 10:1. It's just ridiculous. The arena itself though was actually quite nice. Very antiseptic, but good sight lines all around. The other thing that I really liked about the Chicago fans was that they were inspired throughout the game without some jumbotron having to tell them to make noise. I kind of wish Wings fans still had that fire in them.

Haven't you heard??? Chanting about how much the opponent sucks is the new "Cheering on your team."

Actually its probably easier for the hawks fans to say we sucked tonight, because we did, then it was for them to realize that their team plays well because they haven't had a good team like this in a long ass time. and i agree. Wingnuts need to get their act together and bring the noise again.

We were outplayed tonight. I don't blame our defense, the hawks man handled us. And all those stupid penalties didn't help either.

Hawks play a much faster style of our hockey and beat us. They were swifty too. They're going to be the team to beat within the next few years.... (if management doesn't fall apart)

anyhoo, good game. Our winning streak was due for the end. Too bad we couldn't win one or two more.

I do think we should spend our cap money and get another top 6 forward. We were depending on Grigs to fill the gap.. but.

Night all

Just a thought: Has any player in the history of the franchise cost us as many goals and games by stupid errors as Lilja has? Sometimes he plays well, but now it's beginning to get a little ridiculous that 90% of the goals scored against us are off of Lilja making a mistake.

Blackhawks fan here. Just decided to take a look at the other guys' board for a change. I didn't read every last post on the GDT, but I do appreciate what I've seen....spot-on and classy posts for the most part. Let's make a pact that Wings and Hawks fans will join together to oppose sh*ithead Bettman. and Go Hawks :)

I gotta say that the Hawks are gonna be a playoff team this year (barring any crazy events/injuries); this Hawks team, & Savard behind the bench may be a lethal combo this spring...If the Hawks could acquire a solid veteran 2-way Dman to bolster their blueline they could possibly upset a higher seed in the 1st round.

It's about time for somebody to challenge us for the Norris Division title ;)

Whatever the only reason the Hawks will make the playoffs is because they're in the weak Central.

Seriously though, what's up with them owning us so far this year. I don't think it's a coincidence we no longer look like a top team whenever we play them.

After the Preds game you could tell it was coming soon. Hopefully this was a good loss. The next game against St. Louis will show whether or not it was. Anyway no big. There'll be plenty more losses to come this season so let's not get too used to winning all the time.

Wow, Kronwall and Lilja were horrible that game. Sit Lilja out and put Meech on a line, and take kronwall off the powerplay. There was a moment last night on the PP when Lidstrom passed the puck to kronwall and kronwall had half empty net and a perfect moment to score and he shot it wide

Couldn't disagree with you more about the sight lines. I sat in the lower level too. You are right it is very antiseptic, and I'll add very dull and very boring too. Now that Continental Airlines Arena doesn't host NHL games anymore, the UC has moved to the very bottom of my list of NHL arenas.

Khabibulin always plays well against us, and he reminds me of one of those hot goalies that we always struggle with in the playoffs. Oh, and what's up with Lang and Williams? It's not funny anymore that these guys play twice as hard against us than they did for us. Like I said the last time we played them, I hope we don't meet them in the playoffs.
