He was reminded that Chelios (Jan. 25) Dominik Hasek's (Jan. 29) birthdays are close together and not far away.

I love that Draper tries to make getting those two back-to-back as important as something like back-to-back wins when your team is 3 points down in the standings in the latter part of March.

See, this is why our team is so beloved...they're human beings and damn it, they're fun guys! I can imagine that if I had the opportunity to sit down and have a beer with someone like Draper, I'd initially be starstruck of course, but I think I'd get relaxed pretty quickly with such a character. Another thing that makes hockey great, I say.

I have to admit that I am a bit concerned about this.

Will Maltby be travelling with the team when they play the Wild on the 22nd? If not, who will cream him? Perhaps Mrs. Draper will have to make a house call.

I am also concerned about the next day, the 23rd. Will it count if he gets Sammy and Johan after midnight on the 22nd? How will he get one without the other being on guard? Perhaps he needs to enlist Zetterberg? Or Lidstrom? Homer seems the type who might go for it, but he and Kronner are up for January, so it might be wise not to make enemies. Pavel, with a summer birthday shouldn't have to worry. Perhaps the element of surprise is indicated. Who'd suspect him?

Ah, well, I'll leave it in Draper's capable hands.
