From a poster on Hockeyfights.com

"You guys will love this. Here's a convo that Blues beat-writer Jeremy Rutherford had with Aaron Downey (who used to play for the Blues):"

Quote:

I spoke with former Blue, Aaron Downey, for a few minutes. He’s played in 16 of the last 18 games and said this is the best stretch of his career.

Downey is a real character. Seriously good guy. The Blues players still talk about him, especially Matt Walker.

Listen to the conversation I had with Downey this morning:

Downey: “Kinger playing?â€Â

Me: “Yeah.â€Â

Downey: “Walks playing?

Me: “Yeah.â€Â

Downey: “Should be a good game, eh?â€Â

Downey and Walker are an even match, but I don't see him being able to beat King. That might be a job for the "PAIN TRAIN". It'd be nice if we had more muscle, but we all know what a hard and long struggle it was for many years just to get a guy like Downey into the lineup.

OMG! I love him, seriously! This sould be a good game. I hope he fights Walker, I think that'd be a pretty good match up. I'd also like to see Lils get into another fight, and get another goal. Heck, I'd like to see him get a Gordie Howe hat trick.

Yep, I think Walker/Downey is about as dead even as you can possibly get. That one could go either way....if i had to choose i might slightly lean towards Walker, but by a hair. Likewise, I dont see him fairing too well against King.

Best case scenario is Downey beats Walker early on in the first, and King challenges him later. Works for me!

Almost happened. :P

Heh, I don't know what to give his fight with Walker. He did take him down, but then again, he didn't land any solid hits. Sticking with the trend, it's basically a draw.

I'd like to be a homer on that one, but... :D

Yeah, that one's a pretty cut and dry draw in my book. Takedowns only factor in with me if theres some punches to go with it, there just wasnt anything of note that landed.

Unless Lilja's the one making the takedowns. Then it's a clear win and not a draw.

:D
