Sidenote: I blame you puckloo for the SO being broken. :P

oh, that I had such powers, Mac. I guarantee you things would be a lot different this season.

Sorry, Oz. But it's not like there was any danger of us losing, was there?

First time in franchise history quoth the announcers, that Detroit has reached 30 by the halfway point of the season. So...this begs the question, as jinx-worthy as it is to ask *knocks on head again* What are the Wings' chances of breaking the old Wins record of 95-96? It was 61 wins that year, wasn't it? *thinks he has his recent history right*

At work this afternoon, a coworker asked me what I thought the score would be tonight. I talked through what I thought would happen, sort of thinking out loud, and came to the conclusion, "4-1 Red Wings." My coworker said, "That's exactly what I think."

It's fun to guess right, but I'd be a lot happier if I'd wagered on it.

Well, Ken and Mickey said that we ARE on pace to break the record. Admittedly, they said it'll be difficult to do, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

I'm sure........something like 25 starts with 25 SO's. :P

Just so you know, I thought Dom played great on New Years Eve. I will definitely say that the rest of our boys looked tired that night, and Dom did a great job of keeping them in the game.

3rd star-Hank

2nd star-Lids

1st star-Ozzie

They're talking to Oz now, radio feed anyways. So modest, talking about the guys like Downey and Drake doing the hard work, also how nice it is to have Hank back.

62...umm, I think there's a scary good chance with both our goalies playing well. We've continued to win through injuries to key players...as we get them back, heaven help other teams...it is a bit scary. You've got to think a slump will come sometime, but their system is so deep that if one area drops out, another area steps up and they keep finding ways to win games. I'm still a bit worried about the playoffs though...another gritty guy would be nice up front and in back...

Great game by our boys!

Ozzie was #1 star!

Ooh Mick just said that Ozzie has played better now this season than the year he won the Cup.!!

He has. Ozzie was solid that year, but I've never seen him play with the amount of confidence he has this year. It's like he seriously knows he's going to stop every f*ckin' puck you put on net. When you've got a talented goalie such as Ozzie and you've got that confidence working for you, its terrifying for the opposition.

December statistics

------------------------------------------------

CHRIS OSGOOD

------------------------------------------------

GAA: 1.62 (1.75)

SV%: 94.1% (93.0%)

W-L-OTL: 5 - 1 - 0 (17 - 2 - 1)

SO: 1 (2)

------------------------------------------------

DOMINIK HAÅ EK

------------------------------------------------

GAA: 1.64 (2.32)

SV%: 92.2% (89.1%)

W-L-OTL: 7 - 1 - 1 (12 - 6 - 2)

SO: 1 (1)

I think It's wonderful duo. Osgood is super HOT, Hasek is "just" great.

What's most amazing to me is that he does so without being a complete weirdo. He just seems too normal to be a great goalie. It's really bizarre. I mean, I appreciate it, but it's still bizarre.

that sounds about right!

Too bad Dom played so well (2nd star), yet he still gets the "L" beside his name. <_<

I maintain that Dom doesn't lose games alone, anymore than Ozzie wins them alone.

And besides the win, this game will pad Osgood's stats even more. It'd be crazy if he could pull ahead in the SV% department too. It's bound to be closer but I think he'll be a .931 or .932 now after today? GAA down more as well. Crazy...who would've thought?

That's exactly how I see it. It's amazing and I am so damn proud of him.

I'm going to ask nicely one more time that people leave the goalie arguments out of the GDT. This is a place to discuss the game under discussion, not a forum to begin a debate that belongs in another thread. Thank you.

Turko's "O" face! As in "Oh s***!"

Cheers!

That's just funny. Looks like he got deked almost as bad there as he did by Dats before. Turco will never learn, and that's fine by me

Any shots of Oz diving to make that save I've heard so much about?

It would have went wide, so it really wasn't as spectacular as it looked. You should give him credit for getting back in time, though. If it was heading in he would have saved a goal.
