arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2008 Congrats to our boys who made the team. I know it's been debatied many times before, I just hope during the skills competition the change the breakaway comp to more of a creativity thing. I see the shootout all the time ... I dont need to see someone skate in and let a wrist shot go from 10 feet. I wanna see some stupid ass, lacross style, behind the back, between the legs s***. It has little to do with the game of hockey sure ... but it sure would be sweet to watch.
WingNutt 12 Report post Posted January 8, 2008 Where the hell is Ilya Kovalchuk and Alex Ovechkin for the East? I agree 100%, its because for the most part the All Star game lets fans vote and anyone could win, Its just a popularity contest, I can't complain too much, because 3 guys from Detroit including my favorite player Datsyuk made the cut this year, but we all know other players in the league that should have went over others, Osgood should have been their and everyone knows that. Unless hes picked for a backup but i don't see it happeneing I hope I'm wrong. Kovalchuk and Ovechkin should have been on the top line with Crosby, Lecavalier and Alfredsson should have been second line guys. but like I said its a popularity contest and if Ilya and Alex make it they will prove they should have been on the top line. on the other side Congrats, Pavel, Henrik, and Nick for making it, I know the West will demolish the East this year, in the game, and skills both. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 8, 2008 We all know Ovechkin and Kovalchuk will be on the team, so this doesn't really matter. The starters will be on the ice for a grand total of 45 seconds to start the game, and then the lines will change. It's not a big deal.

You make a good point, but its just funny how the leading and second in the league goal scorer and offensive talent in the east, weren't picked over someone like Alfreddson. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted January 9, 2008 I'm going to be completely antsy and anxious all day on Thursday waiting for the reserves to be announced. I wonder what time they'll be announcing it. lkjskdjgsgs
tipetz22 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2008 I am so stoked that there are 3 Wings in the starting line-up with the possibility of two on the reserves (Raf and Ozzie or Dom, even though Ozzie deserves it). I was able to score some tickets, so my dad and I are going to the games and festivities here in ATL. Anyone else going??
imisssergei 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2008 If I'm Babs, I refer to have my guys that weren't voted to the team, stay at home. Besides, with the Wings already having 3 guys, and each team required to have 1 rep, I don't think any more Wings will get the nod.
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted January 9, 2008 Yeah, and all three forwards selected ahead of him have a better ppg stat and far better +/-. It's not all about who scores the most goals. Not to mention Ilya has 1 fight by his name this season also.
