Agreed, Pronger is a major douchebag I couldn't agree more about having somebody for these types of games. remember the st.louis game back from 02 I think where they started picking on us and Luc Robitaille threw the girliest bitchslap to the back of somebody's head. That was too embarrassing to even be funny. But yeah, games like that piss you off because you wanna go out there and get mixed up in it yourself cause we don't have enough guys on our roster to do it. You guys hate Pronger and so do I. At least i'm rationable about what transpired. If this was such an atrocious move (which deliberate eye gouging would be) then why isn't the NHL looking into it? They just suspended Kovalchuk so don't give me the superstar argument. But hey, this still image is just such good evidence I don't know why I bother. Homers by the way, run the video again and lo and behold, what's that Pronger's got in his left hand? Oh, that'd be cleary's jersey by the neck. I guess he just lucked into that. Hell, nobody even replied to the accusations as I guess they found them to be without merit. nuff said, i'm tired of talking about chris pronger. you wanna see balls and no brains find the clip of Danny boy trying to fight, if you want to call it that, Wade Belak. I don't think I've seen a decided contest among guys yet this season. But I'm glad Downey got back to his feet real quick, I hate it when I see Lilja throw down... not because I loathe my boy, but because I know he's going to the ice in 2.5 seconds. Since Cleary didn't come back pronger thinks he won. Cleary would have definetly sent a message if he disfigured pronger's face even more with a knee. What I don't get is why do good thinks happen to bad people viceversa? Why did that thing happen to Vladdy and not pronger?!?! Seriously, there's nothing possitive about him, even if you look at it from a F@#ks fan perspective. I know it's terrible to say but... When you go in to grab somebody by the neck they're moving. They don't just sit there. The natural tendency when somebody's fist/hand comes at you is to lower your head or scrunch your neck, which is going to put your face where your neck was and then you run the risk of that hand whapping you in the face. He hasnt been losing which is good, but the two names that stick out though as disappointing are his showings against Boll and O'donnell. I viewed Downey as bottom tier heavy going into the year, but now i'd say he belongs in the same group with guys like May and Barch....or what McCarty was for the majority of his career. That tweener category where they're capable for fighting some heavies, but are better suited to fighting light heavies. I just cant call him a heavyweight anymore. He's not all that big of a guy, and he was never a "drop the gloves every game" type of player anyways. I always looked at him as a good middleweight, which I still do. I don't see why everyone is complaining about Downey. Yes, he should be beating guys like O'Donnell, but at least he is fighting. Do you want things to go back to the way they were last year, when the closest thing to fighting was guys like Franzen and Lebda pretending to act tough, only to run away with their tails between their legs when it came time to answer the bell? I sure as hell don't. While the Wings are still in the bottom 5 for FM's this year, things are better than last year at least. I can tell we also view classes differently, for me middleweights are guys like Drake, Steve Ott, Craig Adams, etc. ....basically a rank above non-fighter you could say. I will try to appease both sides of the argument here to please as many people possible and not have everybody yell, "YOUR ARE ONE STUPID IDIOT SOUTHERNWINGSFAN!" (which is actually true sometimes ), so here goes... I know Pronger is the equivalent of the anti-christ in here for just about every member, but to say he was intentionally trying to gouge Cleary's eyes just shows how much people hate him in here and will be so overly expressive and descriptive in displayed their hatred of him. I highly doubt Pronger was intentionally trying to do this. I know he's "taller" then most players, but at the same time to appease the other side, he's got to take responsibility of this advantage (or disadvantage, depending on how you look at it as well). I probably shouldn't be shocked, but it's pretty silly how much attention the fight got because OMG IT'S CHRIS PRONGER! Look, I'm far from his biggest fan, but people just pay way too much attention around here I think, more than necessary, and the displays and posts directed toward disliking him are just way off the deep end sometimes. I hate saying this because it gives the perception that I am sticking up for the guy, but I really wish some people in here could just let it go with the Pronger talk (even though it will never happen), I hate to sound like a whiney brat but it's just over the top and too much sometimes. Ivanans would've dropped him if Parros had've taken his helmet off. Edit: They just showed super slow-mo of it. Ivanans got a ripper punch on the side of Parros' face.
