too bad mick wasn't calling this one. he probably would've jumped out of the broadcast booth onto the ice and attacked the refs.

seriously though. it was so ridiculously and blatantly unfair. i hope the league reviews this bulls***.

Tonight is the reason (besides skill) that I will never be able to play professional hockey. After that bulls*** call, I would have broke my stick over the refs Fu#*ing face.

I agree it would have been tough to keep composure after that BS

Mr Bettman, can you make it any more obvious you're rigging the games? I like the "Bulls***" chant the crowd had going after that call. Did they even send it upstairs for review?? I dont think so.

I know there are probably other cases around the league with other players, but I really notice it with two of our guys.

1) If homer is anywhere near the goalie, he stands a very good chance of getting a call against him. My issue, he is one of (if not Thee) best in the league at screening the goalie. And he does it well. He rarely actually interferes, and yet everyother team acts like he is attempting to rape their goalie. It got league attention, and now he is called on it al the time.

2) Yes I know Dom has a 'history' of diving. However, so does every other f***in goalie in the league. Problem is, refs pin point him and single him out and when he does get pushed/knocked, no call.

It is a terrible double standard which does affect us. It sucks as and I wish the league which actually do somthing about it.

Hye guys, I missed the end of the game. Did Homer score one near the end and get it called back for Goalie Interference?? Sounds like it was bad. Just how bad?>

Well, I actually think it was Nicks. A shot from the point, homer was at the top of the crease. Jiggy came out to try to take out the angle, puck went in. Ref waved it off. The overhead cam clearly shows there was ZERO interference. And of course the second the puck went in f*** ass bag Prongers arms go flying in the Air like Homer had a f***in stabbed Jiggy.

that about sums up my thoughts....

If you are going to make that call, make it reviewable..........

That's what bugs me the most about the call. I thought when the ref went to the glass he was going to ask for a review upstairs. I guess he thought it was a no brainer. Especially on a play like that, that point in the game, and between those two teams; get some help if you need it. If it was reviewed and upstairs said "no goal" as well, it would still suck, but would be easier to take.

I'm sure the League is going to look at it and talk to the officiating crew from today's game.

One thing I keep thinking is that this could be something that will help us out better long term. Games like that really light a fire under a hockey team. Going into the playoffs, we'll have more unfinished business to take care of.

I completely agree. It happened last year in the playoffs and will happen again.

What helps the review rules change movement is that it happened on NBC, the only network the NHL has. The biggest audience the NHL can draw saw a s***TY call and the announcers called the refs on it. I mean EVERYONE with a mic was saying bad call.

Being out of MI and seeing the game on Nat'l TV, I almost threw a shoe at the TV. That was the biggest horses*** make-up call (power play advantages) I have ever seen. did anyone bother to watch it in slow motion? Gigure's face ran into Homer's ass AFTER the puck past him up.

Horses***, Horses***, Horses***, Horses***, Horses***, Horses***, Horses***, Horses***, Horses***!!!!

We can hope that the league will have a chat with the officials, and maybe it will improve, but let's not get crazy. This is the NHL we're talking about. Bettman is probably instructing the other refs to do the exact same garbage to cinrease drama around the game and thus get it more publicity.

Anyways, like I said in the GDT, this gives the Wings an even bigger chip on their shoulder going into the playoffs. Man, if the Wings play Anaheim, just imagine. Think about how hard they've played Anaheim this season, and then imagine that the Wings probably have an even higher level of play to reach against them. They probably weren't giving it their all being that it's just a regular season, and as it's happened in other sports, fully expect for an entirely new level of intensity to erupt in the playoffs.

Bad blood, a couple of brutally stolen games, frustration (if we're pissed, imagine how mad the players were), cheap hits, and disappointment all combine to make a deadly team. Now add to that their skill level.

Just imagine if the Wings could stay awake for an entire game with that intensity. Can we say roasted duck for lunch?
