i could see malkin going; hes only making a mil this year so he'll want a big raise next year.

I dont think they would get rid of Malkin, but what about Fluery. Hotlanta could use some net minding.

In order for a trade to happen after the deadline has passed, what has to happen?

It has to be submitted to the league before the deadline....nothing more.

All trades are pending league approval and that takes time when a bunch of them come in all at once.

Im pretty sure that's not possible. But, it might not hit the wires until after the trade has been made. But, if the deal hasn't been faxed to the head office by 3:00, then it won't go through.

There's something I'm wondering too...maybe Atlanta decides to keep Hossa? That definitely wouldn't shock me.

With Sundin sticking it to Toronto and Kolzig sticking it to the Caps, it's possible that the Thrashers might stick it to Hossa and keep him.

TSN seems to talking like this isn't done. I don't think they'd be doing that if they thought it was even a possibility. I'm not thinking Pens. Sure, Habs maybe still but I just don't see the Pens fitting into this. But, as always, I don't know s***.
