40#1Fan 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 here's a little bit about Ericsson: He's very skilled and he's a big man," said Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey, who has played with Ericsson in Grand Rapids. "Fans are actually going to enjoy watching him. For a big guy like that he can play well on both ends of the rink. He played forward on the power play for us for about a month." http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2008/02/th...rom_update.html
Viperar 16 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I was just listening to the radio, they mentioned Filppula for Hossa. I don't if they were meaning straight up or anything else, but would you pull the trigger on that deal if it were to come up? absolutely

Hank 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Is Ericsson further along than Kindl? I always thought we'd see Kindl first. He was. But the latest scouting reports have suggested that Ericsson has surpassed Kindl.

Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Is Ericsson a fighting, physical player, or is he just another big European defenseman who's soft for his size? I only ask because I don't know much about him, and won't see any Wings games for a while to find out first hand? The 1 game i watched this year of him. He got inna fight. But i dont think he is a big physical guy, I think he just an all around good player more then anything.

I only ask because I don't know much about him, and won't see any Wings games for a while to find out first hand? Ericsson isn't overly physical and not a fighter by any stretch of the imagination but he's good for a couple scraps a year and he's physical enough to use his size to his advantage. Aside from that he is your typical European style defenseman
wingnut40 176 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I love the fact that our top 3 D are out! I'm glad Ericsson gets to play though, and I hope Ellis clears wavers, I don't like him, but he's a good player. Calgary Flames vs. Grand Rapids Griffins! Yeah that's pretty much the case. Hocketownwest 11 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Is Ericsson further along than Kindl? I always thought we'd see Kindl first. Yes, its Jonathan's 2nd year with GR, 7 goals, 17 assists, +4. Kindl is 3 goals, 10 assists, -23. Great guy, very tall, slim. Doesn't look for a fight but will throw down when he has too. Look forward to seeing him play for the Wings, but hope he's back to GR next month for the club dinner.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Hello new Pain Train Don't get carried away. He has to pound a few fighters at the big league level before we can compare him to Lilja.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Don't get carried away. He has to pound a few fighters at the big league level before we can compare him to Lilja. If he grabs Godard, Iginla or Regehr on friday, he'll surpass Lilja. Lilja IS nothing. The Pain Train will never be surpassed, Lilja however WILL.

umredwing11 2 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 I'm eager to see Ericsson. I'm with everybody on that! But I have a question about the IR--why hasn't Cleary been placed on it, especially in preference to Rafalski?

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Really excited to see Ericsson. After a slow start for the Griffins he's having a great season, was even named an All-Star. As for Hartigan, he's better than Ellis so it's a good move.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 I saw this on MLive while reading about Ellis getting picked up. Dominik Hasek will make the trip and Babcock said he should start skating soon. I didn't realize this. Hasek hasn't even been skating?? http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...vers_by_la.html
