So this guy is 6'5" and 225lbs? Can he skate? or handle the puck? Who is this guy and what is his story? Anyone who will threaten to keep a place on the roster? Let's hope he cracks some skulls and makes the front of the Wings net a very very unfriendly place to be! :punch:

Hopefully Ericsson is as tough in the NHL as he seems to indicate in the AHL. He looks like he could be that physical defenseman the Wings have lacked for so long.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do up in the NHL. I hope he is physical, and fights, as he'd make a great replacement of Lilja.

he's really not that physical and he rarely fights and usually isn't the aggressor when he does

Quincey is far physical than Ericsson

Oh hell yeah! Seems like the guy has a much needed mean streak. I thought we might see some of that in the Wings/ Avs game. We really need some of that passion/controlled hatred in our game.

God, Kp! What does Lilja have to do, ******* murder someone in a fight before you start respecting his fighting prowess? It's not his fault that no one has wanted to fight him ever since he fell on top of Chris Neil. Another reason for him not fighting in a while is that the last few teams we played scratched their top enforcers for small fish like Ott, Lapperierre, etc. He didn't want to spotpick against lesser fighters, that's all. :D

Im stoked to see him play in Vancouver on Sat

OK everybody calm down. Yes he is big, but from what I have been able to find on the net he is a very raw talent. Kindl and Smith are both regarded as better but they are more offensive minded defenseman. I think that Babs is giving him a look because Babs was impressed with him during training camp.

Don't expect too much from him yet. Just because he's big doesn't mean that he is ready for the NHL.

There is more to hockey than being big.

Also, I can't find anybody that lists him as more than 205. I'm not sure where the 250+ weight came from.

Wishful thinking from several LGW members, myself included. :D
